Correlation Between Homocysteine And Carotid Atherosclerosis In Hypertensive Patients

Objective:To tudy the relationship between homocysteine levels and carotid atherosclerosis in patients with essential hypertension,we can find the new idea about the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.Methods:Select 133 cases of hypertension patients in the first people's hospital of kunming from March 2017 to December 2017,the diagnosis was based on the Chinese hypertension control guide.They all signed informed consent,inspection such as blood lipid,blood glucose,uric acid,homocysteine and carotid artery ultrasound were all done and the general data collection were performed.According to the results of carotid artery ultrasound,divide into the normal group 46 cases,and 87 cases of carotid atherosclerosis group.Multi-factor unconditioned Logistic regression analysis was performed to analyze Diversity index of two groups.Pearson correlation analysis was performed between homocysteine and carotid intimal thickness.Patients with carotid artery plaques were grouped according to the number and stability of plaques,and the homocysteine levels were compared between groups.Results:1.The homocysteine,low density lipoprotein cholesterol,uric acid,sex ratio(male/female),smoking rate of carotid atherosclerosis group were higher than normal group.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After Logistic regression analysis,Results showed that homocysteine was one of the risk factors for carotid atherosclerosis2.Pearson correlation analysis of homocysteine and right carotid intimal thickness was P=0.026,r=0.193.And in the left,it's P=0.035,r=0.183.3.The blood homocysteine level of the less atherosclerotic plaque group was 14.79±4.89umol/L,and the blood homocysteine level of the multiple atherosclerotic plaque group was 20.43±19.08 umol/L,and there was no significant difference between the two groups of the homocysteine level(P>0.05).The blood homocysteine level of the stable atherosclerotic plaque group was 18.74±17.59umol/L,and the blood homocysteine level of the unstable atherosclerotic plaque group was 16.23±6.12umol/L,and there was no significant difference in the homocysteine level between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:1.Elevated homocysteine levels may be a risk factor for carotid atherosclerosis.2.The homocysteine concentration was positively correlated with the thickness of carotid intima.
