The Clinical Study Of Xi Bi Tong Combined With Platelet-rich Plasma In The Treatment Of Moderate KneeOsteoarthritis

[Objective]The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of intra-articular injection of platelet-rich plasma and intra-articular injection of platelet-rich plasma with Xi Bi Tong Fang on the treatment of knee osteoarthritis.The levels of MMP-1 and IL-1,and the scores of VAS,WOMAC and Lequesne were observed before and after treatment.To further explore the clinical effect of XiBiTong and platelet-rich plasma on knee osteoarthritis.[Methods]Thirty patients with moderate osteoarthritis of the knee from the Department of Orthopedics of Wangjing Hospital.The selected cases were divided into the experiment group and the control group,15 cases in each group by random number table according to the patient visit time.The experimental group received oral administration of Xi Bi Tong Fang combined with platelet-rich plasma intra-articular injection.The control group received platelet-rich plasma joint cavity injection only.Both groups were injected with platelet-rich plasma for 2 times,the first and the second time interval was 14 days.The levels of MMP-1 and IL-1 in joint fluid were analyzed before the treatment and on 28 days after treatment.Before and after treatment,the scores of VAS,WOMAC and Lequesne were recorded respectively.[Results]There was no statistical difference in age,sex,and course of disease between the two groups.Before treatment,there was no significant difference in the levels of WOMAC,VAS,Lequesne,IL-1 and MMP-1(p?0.05).There were statistical differences in the scores of VAS,Lequesne and IL-1 between the experimental group and control group after the treatment(P?0.05).But WOMAC,MMP-1 had no statistical significance.Self-comparison after treatment in both theexperimental group and the control group showthat the scores of WOMAC,VAS,Lequesne,IL-1,MMP-1were significantly different(P?0.05).[Conclusion]This study showed that Xi Bi Tong Fang combined with platelet-rich plasma in the treatment of moderate knee osteoarthritis in pain relief,improve knee function,The improvement of joint stiffness and the reduction of IL-1 level in joint fluid was better than that of platelet-rich plasma alone,and the effective rate was higher than that of platelet-rich plasma alone,and it could reduce the swelling and discomfort of knee joint three days after platelet-rich plasma injection.
