Objective To explore and study the effect of Propaganda and Education Based on We Chat Public Platform on Breastfeeding of Primipara in the following four aspects including improving breastfeeding knowledge, breastfeeding self-efficacy,overall well-being,and exclusive breastfeeding rates and to provide reference for commu-nity health service centers and related maternal and child health organizations to apply new media health education. Methods This research use observational study and experimental intervention study. From July 2017 to November 2017,214 One week postpartum primiparas from three community hospitals randomly selected from three community hospitals were randomly divided into a control group and an intervention group. The control group received routine health propaganda and education at a community health service center and follow-up visits after delivery while the intervention group, apart from receiving routine health propaganda and education and post-natal visits, will receive additional continuous propaganda and education intervention for 16 weeks based on We Chat public platform. And the intervention content includes breastfeeding knowledge, feeding skills, postpartum psychological support and other breastfeeding propaganda and health education. Two groups of subjects were investigated in terms of breastfeeding related knowledge,self-efficacy,general well-being and breastfeeding rates by using "Personal Information Questionnaire","Breastfeeding Knowledge Scale","Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale","Overall Well-being Scale(GWB)" at 1 week postpartum,6 weeks and 16 weeks after in-tervention respectively. The SPSS22.0 software package was used to create data files and perform data analysis and the measurement data was expressed as xs.One-way ANOVA and multiple comparisons were performed within groups using the LSD method. Two independent samples t-test were used to compare the data between groups.Theuse rate indicates thatthe test was used for comparison between the twox~2groups,and the test level was 0.05.Result A total of 187 valid questionnaires were recovered,of which 92 were in the control group, and the effective recovery rate was 86.98%,while 95 cases were in the intervention group and the effective recovery rate was 88.79%.1.There was no significant difference in demographic characteristics between the control group and the experimental group before the intervention(P>0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in breastfeeding knowledge, breastfeeding self-efficacy,and overall well-being(P>0.05).2.Breastfeeding knowledge:Before the intervention, the control group score was 11.65±1.94,while the experimental group score was 11.24±2.08.There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).The control group score was 12.04±2.23 at postpartum 6-week while the experimental group score was 14.08±1.61.The control group score was 12.33±1.78,while the experi-mental group score was 15.95±1.06 at postpartum 16-week.The knowledge score in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05);The difference of knowledge score at postpartum 6-week,at postpartum 16-week and before intervention in the control group was compared and there was no statisti-cally significant difference(P>0.05),while the knowledge score in the experi-mental group had statistically significant differences(P<0.05).3.Breastfeeding self-efficacy:Before the intervention, the score of the control group was 92.08±23.96,while that of the experimental group was 97.06±22.34.There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).At postpartum 6-week,the control group scored 94.43±6.82,while the experi-mental group score was 104.04±8.48.At postpartum 16-week,the control group scored 93.66±6.98,while the experimental group score was 115.80±6.98.The self-efficacy score of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05);The difference of knowledge score at postpartum 6-week,at post-partum 16-week and before intervention in the control group were compared and there was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05),while the efficacy scores in the experimental group had statistically significant differences(P<0.05).4.Overall well-being:Before the intervention(1 week after childbirth),the score in the control group was 72.66±6.35,while the experimental group score was73.43±5.92.There was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05);At postpartum 6-week,the control group scored 74.42±6.71,while the experi-mental group score was 78.36±5.56;At postpartum 16-week,the control group scored 77.06±6.63,while the experimental group scored 81.79±5.28.The happi-ness score of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05);The difference of happiness score at postpartum 6-week,at postpartum16-week and before intervention in the control group was compared and there was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05),while the happiness score in the experimental group had statistically significant differences(P<0.05).5.Exclusive breastfeeding rate:Before the intervention(1 week after child-birth),the exclusive breastfeeding rate in the control group was 54.3%while69.5%in the experimental group. The difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05);At postpartum 6-week,the exclusive breastfeeding rate in the control group was 50.0%,while 84.2%in the experimental group. At postpartum 16-week,the exclusive breastfeeding rate was 34.8%in the control group while 77.9%in the experimental group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Breastfeeding health Propaganda and education based on the We Chat public platform can effectively improve the breastfeeding knowledge of primiparas,en-hance their self-efficacy and overall well-being,increase the exclusive breastfeed-ing rate, and can maintain pure breast feeding.
