Research background:Periodontal disease is a potential and independent risk factor for preterm low birth weight infants. It has attracted wide attention from scholars both at home and abroad.Meta analysis showed that periodontal treatment for pregnant women with periodontitis, including Supragingival Scaling,Subgingival scaling, periodontal flap and root surface leveling, could improve the periodontal health index of pregnant women and reduce periodontal symptoms, but the periodontal treatment during pregnancy did not reduce the birth rate of premature and low birth weight infants. This study is divided into two parts, from the perspective of doctors and patients to investigate their cognition of the relationship between preterm low birth weight infants and periodontal diseases. The purpose of the study:The knowledge, attitude and behavior(Knowledge, attitude and practice,KAP)of the doctors and patients on the relationship between periodontitis and premature birth weight infants were investigated and assessed, and their cognitive conditions were understood, which provided a basis for the formulation of further oral health education program for pregnant women, and provided a theoretical basis for the formulation of a new medical policy.Method:Clinicians in obstetrics and gynecology in the third-grade class-A hospitals in Guangdong,Anhui,Jiangsu,Shandong provinces and Shanghai city were surveyed by questionnaires. The questionnaire was distributed in the form of face-to-face or sending E-mail,and then the index was analyzed by index cluster analysis, and the Cronbach ?'s coefficients of the questionnaire was obtained. In order to explore the factors that affect the clinical practice of Obstetricians and obstetricians, whether the obstetricians and obstetricians often suggest that the patients undergo preventive periodontal examination and treatment before pregnancy is the dependent variable, the Logistic regression analysis is carried out on the basis of gender, age, educational level and professional title. The questionnaire survey was carried out on pregnant women in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Zhujiang Hospital of Southern Medical University. The questionnaire was issued in the form of field investigation. Then the questionnaire was analyzed statistically. In order to discuss the factors that affect the pregnant women's oral health care behavior, whether or not the oral cavity examination and treatment are the dependent variables in pregnancy and the age of the pregnant women.Logistic regression analysis was used as independent variables.Result:The total Cronbach a's coefficients of the questionnaire on obstetricians and gynecologists is 0.724,and the reliability of the representative questionnaire is high.Logistic regression analysis shows that the more the obstetricians and obstetricians who agree with "periodontal treatment during pregnancy do not reduce the premature birth rate of newborns",the more they tend to "suggest a preventive periodontal examination and treatment before pregnancy."On the survey of pregnant women,Logistic regression analysis shows that higher educated pregnant women tend to be more likely to have oral examination and treatment during pregnancy compared with those with low educational background;the more oral health workers close to the period of childbirth pay more attention to oral examination and treatment. Conclusion:The obstetricians and gynecologists have not paid enough attention to the relationship between periodontitis and premature birth weight infants;most pregnant women do not understand the relationship between periodontitis and premature birth weight infants, and do not pay enough attention to oral health;scientific cognition can guide the production of correct behavior.
