Backround:Congenital heart defects(CHDs)are the most common defects of neonatal congenital malformations with an incidence of 0.8%-1.0%.Moreover,congenital heart disease is the first cause of infants' death in the developed country.Although surgery and catheter interventional treatment as well as other medical treatments can cure most CHDs,late diagnosis results in worse outcomes of treatments and makes newborns be at high risk for mortality and morbidity because of cardiovascular collapse or respiratory distress. Therefore, early detection of CHDs can improve survival and quality of life. Objective To search a more reliable and easily-operated method for the screening of neonatal congenital heart diseases(CHD).Method The study was conducted from junuary 2017-July 2017,which totally 7105 neonates were involved.Cardiac color ultrasound was used to make a definite diagnosis which was used to evaluate the validity and reliability of these indicators, such as physical examination, pulse oximetry screening and perfusion index in the screening of neonatal CHD.Results The sensitivity of above indicators were in the range of 13.11%to 73.77%,reliability was 50.40%to 98.86%when these three indicators were used separately in screening for CHD.When their combination such as abnormal physical examination plus abnormal pulse oximetry screening, abnormal physical examination plus abnormal PI,abnormal PI plus abnormal pulse oximetry screening or abnormal physical examination plus abnormal pulse oximetry screening plus abnormal PI were used in screening, though the reliability(97.07%)was decreased slightly, the sensitivity(85.25%)and Youden's index(0.82)were increased. Conclusion The combination of physical examination, abnormal pulse oximetry screening and abnormal PI is beneficial to the screening for neonatal CHD.
