Objective To investigate the epidemiological characteristics of serum ALT and AST among the migrated workers from different province who worked in Suzhou Industrial Park.Forty hundreds people, including 2,000 men and 2,000 women from each province were randomly selected and invited to participate in the present study.A unified questionnaire was used to collect the demorgraphic charcteristics from every subject. The blood sample(3ml)was collected by venous blood extraction. The upper plasma was separated by centrifugating for serum ALT and AST measurement.ALT>42U/L and AST>38U/L were defined as abnormal results.Variance analysis was used for comparison among multiple groups, and Logistic regression was used to analyze the relationship between ALT and AST abnormalities and provinces, age and BMI.Epidata3.0 was used for double-pass data entry.SPSS 22.0and SAS 9.2 were used for statistical analysis. All reported P values were two-tailed,and those<0.05 were considered statistically significant.Results1.Totally,the abnormal rates of ALT and AST among migrant workers in Suzhou Industrial Park were 5.66%(ALT>42 U/L)and 1.61%(AST>38U/L),respectively.The participants with abnormal levels of ALT and AST were more prone to be males, and have higher systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure, and increased BMI values compared to those with normal ALT and AST.2.The abnormality rate of ALT among age group of 20-29 years,30-39 years,40-49 years was 5.74%,5.86%and 3.71%,respectively.The abnormal rate of AST the age group of 20-29 years,30-39 years,40-49 years was 1.57%,1.86%and1.00%,respectively.Both abnormality rates of ALT and AST were decreased with age increasing.3.The abnormal rate of ALT among group of BMI<24 kg/m~2,24 kg/m~2?BMI<28kg/m~2 and BMI?28 kg/m~2 was 2.80%,8.14%and 18.65%,respectively.As the results shown, the abnormal rate of AST among group of BMI<24 kg/m~2,24 kg/m~2?BMI<28kg/m~2 and BMI?28 kg/m~2 was 0.89%,1.94%and 5.58%,respectively.Both abnormality rates of ALT and AST were increased with BMI.4.After adjusting for age, gender, blood pressure, heart rate and other indicators, the participants in the group of 24 kg/m~2?BMI<28 kg/m~2 and BMI?28 kg/m~2 had2.78-fold and 6.10-fold risk of elevated levels of ALT,with 95%CI of 2.46-3.13 and5.34-6.97,respectively.As the results shown, the participants with 24 kg/m~2?BMI<28kg/m~2 and BMI?28 kg/m~2 had 2.03-fold and 5.31-fold risk of elevated levels of AST,with 95%CI of 1.62-2.54 and 4.21-6.68,respectively.Conclusion1 Migrant workers with 30-39 years have the highest abnormal rate of ALT and AST.Furthermore, the abnormal rates of ALT and AST decreased with age.2 The abnormal ALT and AST among migrant workers in Suzhou Industrial Park were positively correlated with BMI.
