Background: With the improvement of the quality of life and the quickening of life rhythm, the incidence of cerebral infarction in China is very high in recent years. Its fatality rate and disability rate also show a continuous rising trend, seriously endangering human health, among which the high disability rate not only causes double pressure to the patient's body and psychology. And their financial burden of the family is heavy. The development of modern medical technology has made great progress in the prevention and treatment of cerebral infarction, but reducing the disability rate and mortality to the maximum extent is still the focus of clinical doctors.Nerve growth factor can regulate many stages of neurogenesis, and it has the biological characteristics of promoting nerve repair, which is of great clinical significance. Many domestic and foreign research institutions have conducted in-depth research on NGF,its clinical value for cerebral infarction has been excavated,it has been gradually used in clinical treatment. However, there is little research on the relationship between acute cerebral infarction and serum NGF.Objective: To assess the clinical significance of serum nerve growth factor(NGF)in acute cerebral infarction by measuring the change of its level in the patients with acute cerebral infarction. Methods: The subjects are consisted of the experimental group of 90 patients with acute cerebral infarction and another group of 20 healthy controls.According to the size of cerebral infarction, the patients with acute cerebral infarction are divided into 3 infarct groups.Patients, blood samples of experimental group is collected within 24 hours,7days and 14 days after cerebral infarction. The serum levels of NGF of 90 cases of acute cerebral infarction were measured by ELISA.20 healthy subjects set as control group. The statistical processing is analyzed by SPSS22.0 statistical software.Results:1.Serum levels of NGF are13.96±1.76?12.74±1.87?11.58±2.13 in the patients with acute cerebral infarction after the onset of the 1d?7d and 14 d,the serum level of NGF is9.08±1.03 in healthy controls.Serum NGF levels in acute cerebral infarction are significantly higher than those in the control group after the onset of the 1d?7d(P<0.01).Serum NGF levels in acute cerebral infarction is significantly higher than this in the control group after the onset of the 14d(P<0.05).At the same time, there are significant differences in serum levels of NGF at different time points in cerebral infarction group(P<0.05).2.Serum levels of NGF are16.75±0.45?15.36±0.69?14.48±0.53 in patients with acute cerebral infarction which the largest diameter of infarct is more than 50 mm after the onset of the 1d?7d and 14 d.Serum levels of NGF are14.46±0.45?13.51 ± 0.59 ? 12.63 ± 0.62 in patients with acute cerebral infarction which the largest diameter of infarct is between 15 mm and 50 mm after the onset of the 1d?7d and 14 d.Serum levels of NGF are12.41±0.67?11.07±0.89?9.58±0.92 in patients with acute cerebral infarction which the largest diameter of infarct is less than 15 mm after the onset of the 1d?7d and 14 d.Serum levels of NGF are significant differences in different patients groups with acute cerebral infarction after the onset of the 1d?7d and 14d(P<0.01).Conclusion: 1.The serum level of NGF increased first and then decreased in patients with actue cerebral infarction.2.The serum level of NGF is positively correlated with the size of lesion in patients with acute cerebral infarction.3.Measuring the serum level of NGF in patients with acute cerebral infarction may have important reference value in evaluating severity of cerebral infarction.
