Objects:This survey was conducted on the staff of the general hospital of Stomatology,Oral Specialties, and private dental clinics in Changchun City,to investigate the knowledge of medical emergencies and the grasp of basic first aid knowledge in dental clinics,to investigate the present situation of cognition of medical emergencies by dental professionals in dentistry,to explore the influencing factors,to provide theoretical basis for enhancing first aid related training and proposing reasonable suggestions,to improve the emergency care capabilities of dental specialists,to better maintain the patient's medical treatment safety. Methods:The research selected 165 doctors and nurses from two oral specialist hospitals, four general hospital dentistry departments, and eight private dental clinics in Changchun City,as the respondents through convenience sampling method and conducted a questionnaire survey.A self-designed questionnaire was employed in this investigation. The questionnaire composed of 3 parts:basic information,a questionnaire on the medical emergency and a questionnaire on basic knowledge of first aid.The data collected in the effective questionnaire was double-checked and entered into the computer Excel table.SPSS 21.0 statistical software was used for data analysis.Results:1 In this study,165 questionnaires were distributed,152 copies were recollected,so the recovery rate was 92.1%;the number of effective questionnaire was 150 and the effective rate was 98.7%.2 The overall oral health care personnel's understanding of the situation, the average score was 85.9 points,at a relatively high level.Among the eleven items in the recognition dimension, the top three items with the highest scores were that it wasnecessary for the oxygen-absorbing device in the treatment area(4.68±0.51),emergency medicines, and articles to be managed by special persons(4.67±0.53)And it is necessary for specialists to learn first-aid knowledge and skills(4.65±0.63).The last three places are: the training frequency of first aid knowledge and skills in your organization meets your needs(3.88±0.96),and the first aid training content of the unit can be effectively used in practical clinical work(3.92±1.10)and I Will actively learn first aid-related knowledge(4.00±0.96).The knowledge of oral health care personnel was poor, with an average score of 58 points and a low level.Among the 10 items in the questionnaire, only one question had a score rate of more than 80%,which is a precautionary consideration for the use of local anesthetic drugs(82.7%)The lowest scoring rate was the number of grains taken(24%)at the time of acute attack of the Suxiao Jiuxin Pill.3 The results of variance analysis showed that there were training needs and unit types that affect the cognitive dimension.Factors that affect the knowledge dimension were occupation, working years, education level, training needs, type of unit, and the number of emergencies encountered.4 The results of multivariate stepwise regression analysis showed that there were training requirements and unit types that affect the cognitive dimension.Factors that affect the knowledge dimension were occupation and education level.Conclusion:1 The dental specialists had a good understanding of emergency medical emergencies and had a good understanding of the significance of learning first aid knowledge and preparation of first aid items. However, the basic knowledge of first aid for oral medical personnel was lacking and needfurther consolidation and improvement.2 The main factors affecting the recognition dimension of emergent medical emergencies of dental specialists were training needs and unit types. The factors affecting the knowledge dimension included occupation, education level, training needs, type of unit, number of emergency cases encountered.3 It is suggested that we should consolidate and intensify our understanding of emergency medical emergencies so that dental specialists can maintain theirpsychological alertness, strengthen the training and learning of first-aid knowledge for dental specialists, and effectively improve the ability of first-aid medical professionals to provide emergency care.
