Objective:To observe the changes of serum Cys-C level in patients with cerebral infarction and different degree of cerebral vascular stenosis, and to explore the effect of Cys-C on acute cerebral infarction and cerebral vascular stenosis. Methods:We selected patients with first-time cerebral infarction who were hospitalized in Department of Neurology,Second Hospital of Jilin University from August 2016 to July 2017(n=222),meanwhile we chose people in physical examination at the Second Hospital of Jilin University as control group during the same period(n=101).Patients' gender, age, past history, alcohol and tobacco history were collected.Serum Cys-C,HCY,creatinine,fasting blood glucose,TG,TC,LDL,and HDL were examined.Patients in cerebral infarction group underwent intracranial and extracranial CT angiography.Patients with cerebral infarction were divided into group A(not more than 3 days),group B(4-7 days)and group C(more than 7 days)according to the time of onset. The cerebral infarction group was divided into groups as non-stenosis group, mild stenosis group, moderate stenosis group, severe stenosis and occlusion group according to the degree of cerebrovascular stenosis. The differences of gender, age, hypertension, diabetes, smoking, drinking and Cys-C,HCY,Cr,fasting glucose,TG,TC,LDL,HDL were analyzed and compared. The level of Cys-C in different groups divided according to time of onset was compared.Logistic regression was used to analyze the correlation between cerebral infarction, cerebral vascular stenosis and Cys-C.Results:The level of Cys-C in the cerebral infarction group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P < 0.001).Logistic regression analysis showed that serum Cys-C level was significantly associated with cerebral infarction(P = 0.001).There was no difference in Cys-C level between the three groups of patients with different onset time(P > 0.05).And there was no difference in Cys-C level in patients with different cerebral vascular stenosis(P > 0.05).Logistic regression a n a l y s i s s h o w e d t h a t t h e r e w a s n o c o r r e l a t i o n between Cys-C levels and vascular stenosis.Conclusions:(1)Cys-C is significantly associated with cerebral infarction.(2)Serum Cys-C level does not change significantly with the onset of time.(3)There is no correlation between Cys-C level and cerebrovascular stenosis.
