Objective:The effects of flexible neuroendoscopy and traditional bore hole drainage for chronic subdural hematoma were analyzed retrospectively. To explore the application of flexible neuroendoscopy in the treatment of chronic subdural hematoma. Methods:Clinical materials of 60 patients with chronic subdural hematoma from August 2015 to March 2018 were collected.according to the different surgical methods,30 patients were operated by flexible neuroendoscopy(experimental group)and another 30 patients were operated by traditional bore hole drainage(control group). No difference between the two preoperative groups of cases by the statistical evaluation. The postoperative materials such as neurological function recovery, activies of daily living, catheter time, length of stay, recurrence and complications were collected.Statistical analysis was performed to compare two groups. Results:The therapeutic effect of experimental group was better than that of control group 24 hours after operation(P<0.05).Three months after the operation, the nerve function and activities of daily living of the experimental group was better than that of control group(P<0.05).The average catheter time(2.4±0.5 d)and average length of stay(7.3±1.3)of the experimental group were shorter than that of the control group(average catheter time 2.7±0.5 d,average length of stay 8.3±1.4 d).The postoperative complications of the experimental group were less than that of the control group. One month after the operation, the experimental group had no recurrence. However, the control group had recurrence of 3 cases and 2 cases of subdural hygroma. Conclusion:The application of flexible neuroendoscopy had a better clinical curative effect compared with the traditional bore hole drainage in patient with CSDH.It is a safe, minimally invasive and efficient method with the advantages of full visibility, flexible operation, complete removal of hematoma, less postoperative complications, short hospital stay and low recurrence.
