Objective:Lateral locking plate and bilateral locking plates were used to treat distal femur C2,C3 fractures, whose clinical problems were compared. Methods:Follow up patients who get trauma orthopedic surgery treatment of C2 and C3 distal femur fractures from September 2015 to February 2018 in No.1 Hospital of Jilin University. There were 55 patients who met the inclusion criteria.AO classification was used for classification of C2 and C3 distal femoral fractures.31 patients were divided into group A by open reduction and lateral locking plate fixation.24 patients were divided into group B with bilateral locking plate internal fixation.Patients were followed up for no less than 6 months about gender, age, height, weight, hospitalization time, intraoperative bleeding volume, operation time, fracture healing time, postoperative knee joint function exercise time,follow-up of knee joint activity at different time after operation, postoperative knee function and syndrome. And the results were analyzed statistically. Results:There was no significant difference in gender, height, weight, age, average hospitalization time, syndrome and fracture healing time between group A(lateral locking plate group)and group B(bilateral locking plate group)(P>0.05).The operation time and intraoperative bleeding volumeof group A were less than those of Group B,and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).The time of knee joint exercise in group B was earlier than that in group A,and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups in the knee joint activity at 1 month after operation(P>0.05).There were significant difference between the two groups of patients in the knee joint activity at2 months,3 months and 6 months after operation and postoperative knee joint function.(P<0.05).Conclusion:In AO C2 and C3 fractures of distal femur, compared with the simple lateral locking plate, the bilateral locking plates can make the fracture end fixation more perfect, and accord with biomechanical stability.Although the operation time and intraoperative blood loss of bilateral locking plates were more than those of lateral locking plate alone, there was no significant difference in fracture healing time between the two groups. For the early postoperative knee joint function exercise,long-term knee function and surgical treatment effect of patients, using of bilateral locking plates is better than the use of lateral locking plate alone.
