Discussion On The Law Of Syndromes And Cures Of The Six Channels In "Shang Han Lun" By Using Circular Motion Thought In TCM

Objective:In recent years,some scholars have tried to study and collate the circular motion thought in TCM and study "Shang Han Lun" with this thought.However,scholars’ research is not systematic and thorough at present.Through the research of this subject,we further summarize and sort out the circular motion thought in TCM,interpret "Shang Han Lun" from the new perspective of the circular motion thought contained in TCM,explore the correlation between six channels in "Shang Han Lun" and the circular motion thought and the law of syndromes and cures of the six channels,and hope to further enrich Zhongjing’s academic thoughts and theories.Method:On the basis of previous research,using the methods of literature research,we study on "The ancient Chinese Medicine of circular motion" and "The ancient Chinese Medicine of circular motion(Continued)" by Mr.Zi-yi Peng,published in June 2007 and June 2009 by the Chinese Medicine Publishing House of China,and combine other related books and literature,such as "Huangdi Neijing","Shang Han Lun","Treatise of Spleen and Stomach","Four sacred heart source","Shang Han solution","Medical truth",etc.On one hand,by discussing the emergence and meaning of the circular motion thought in TCM and its application in the law of air movement and the movement of the body’s gas,the circular motion thought in TCM is wanted to be systematized.On the other hand,through the discussion of the concept of the six channels in "Shang Han Lun" and the correlation between the six channels and the circular motion thought,studies on the physiology,pathology and medical theory of the six channels under the circular motion thought in TCM,discussion of the rules of the syndromes and cures of the diseases of the six channels one by one,studies and summaries on syndromes and treatments with a prescription for treatment in various diseases of the six channels from the aspects of disease,syndrome,pathogenesis,symptoms,treatments and corresponding provisions,and makes detailed analysis of some representative prescriptions,a framework for interpreting "Shang Han Lun" based on the circular motion thought in TCM is wanted to be preliminary constructed.Result:The thesis is divided into two parts.The first part systematically collates the circular motion thought in TCM.The research concluded that the "circular motion" is a term proposed by Zi-yi Peng,a famous physician of Bai nationality in late Qing and Republican stages.It rooted in traditional culture and its essence is the same as the circulation concept in traditional culture.The circulation concept in TCM is called "circular motion",both originated in the He Tu Luo Shu.The law of circular motion is the universal law of things.All things are in the periodic cycle and dynamic balance,and it seems to change constantly in the form of circular motion.Circular motion thought is a thought that uses the law of circular motion to understand and analyze things.The circular motion thought in TCM is one of the characteristic ideas in TCM,which explains the atmosphere and life by using the law of circular motion,studies the mechanism of the circular motion of Qi,and simulate the movement track of the five elements,Yin and Yang common to the human and the atmosphere by using circle under the guidance of the theory of TCM.The second part describes the correlation of the six channels in "Shang Han Lun" with the circular motion thought and the rule of syndromes and cures of diseases of the six channels under the circular motion thought in TCM.The research concluded that the six channels in "Shang Han Lun" and circular motion thought are closely related.Six channels is carrying on further development of the five elements and six gas.Zhong-jing Zhang inherited and further developed the theory of TCM and the circular motion thought in TCM.Rong and Wei is exterior,Zang and Fu is interior,and Shaoyang meridian is semi-exterior-interior.Rong and Wei intersect into the circular motion.Zhang Yin and Fu Yang intersect into the circular motion.Gas of Shaoyang channel of hand and foot intersect into the circular motion.These are physiology of six channels.If Rong and Wei are in discord,Zhang Yin and Fu Yang are in discord and gas of Shaoyang channel of hand and foot are in discord,the movement would be not round.These are pathology of six channels.We reconcile Rong and Wei,Zhang Yin and Fu Yang,and gas of Shaoyang channel of hand and foot to recovery circular motion.These are medical treatment of six channels.The diseases of the six channels contains exterior disease,interior disease and disease of semi-exterior-interior.It is divided into natural and change diseases.The research preliminary summarizes the rules of syndromes and treatments of the various diseases of the six channels and disease syndromes with a prescription for treatment in diseases of the six channels under the circular motion thought in TCM.Conclusion:The circular motion thought in TCM is one of the characteristic ideas.It can help us understand and comprehend TCM better,and it can help us understand the nature,physiologyand pathology of human.The six channels in "Shang Han Lun" and the circular motion thought are closely related.Zhang Zhongjing inherited and further developed the circular motion thought in TCM.All in all,motion circularly is physiology,motion not circularly is pathology and recovering circular motion is medical treatment of the six channels.The interpretation of "Shang Han Lun" from the perspective of the circular motion thought in TCM helps to show the overall concept,the concept of perpetual motion and balance concept better in the six channels syndrome differentiation,understand and apply "Shang Han Lun",and further enrich academic thoughts and theories of Zhong-jing Zhang.
