In the report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,it was pointed out that grass-roots medical and health service systems and contingent of general practitioners should be strengthened to accelerate the development of old-age businesses and industries. In contemporary China, the objective status quo of population aging requires the continuous improvement of the level of medical services, and the rapid economic development will lay the material foundation for the improvement of the level of medical services. With the deepening the aging population and the trend of a steady rise of economic growth,to increase the amount of medical supply is the trend of the times. The first part of the paper introduces the research background, research status, research significance and research methods. The second part establishes a new medical supply growth model to reveal the intrinsic link between population aging, economic growth and medical supply, and put forward some conjecture propositions. The third section introduces the variables and data used for empirical analysis. The fourth part uses the panel data of China's 31 provinces from 1997 to 2014 to empirically test the conjecture proposition. The fifth part conducts a robustness test. The sixth part analyzes the predictive function of the model. The study found that, from the whole country's point of view, along with the deepening of the degree of population aging, medical supplies are increasing. With the economic development level promoting or economic growth accelerating, the impactof the deepening degree of population aging on medical supplies is increasing. Therefore,if policy-makers want to increase the amount of medical supply efficiently, they should actively promote the construction of medical information technology, speed up the training of general practitioners, and make good use of market means to strengthen the supply of medical services. The seventh part gives the conclusions and policy recommendations.
