Objective: In order to compare whether there are differences in the postoperative hearing, sound comprehension, spatial hearing and speech resolution of the children with binaural double mode cochlear implantation and the children with unilateral cochlear implantation. To evaluate the auditory advantage after binaural and double mode cochlear implantation. Methods: During the period of 2013-2014,to select 51 cases of cochlear in The First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University, according to the non implant ears whether to wear hearing aids after operation, divided into group A(Unilateral cochlear implantation)and group B(binaural-bimodal).Through the use of questionnaire survey for evaluating the preoperative, postoperative hearing ability, mainly adopts the categories of auditory performance-II(CAP-II),meaningful auditory integration(MAIS),the speech, spatial and qualities of hearing scale-parents' version(SSQ-P).To evaluate the hearing ability of children before and after operation, auditory comprehension, speech perception, spatial hearing, speech resolution, and so on.To compare the scores of the three scales after operation between the two groups, and to carry out statistical analysis.Result: Group B patients postoperative CAP-II score(6.36 + 1.50)was higher than that in A group(5.52 + 1.33),The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Group B patients postoperative MAIS score(25.96±3.77)was higher than that in A group(23.36±4.86),The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Group B patients postoperative speech perception(8.17±0.59),spatial hearing(6.48±1.17)),hearing and other characteristics score(6.93±0.96)was all higher than that in A group sore of speech perception(7.48±0.72),spatial hearing(3.89±0.78),hearing and other characteristics score(5.56±0.74),the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion: Compare to unilateral cochlear implantation, the binaural double model of the children have a higher ability of hearing.Patients with residual hearing were encouraged to receive both hearing aids and cochlear implants. The results showed that the recovery of binaural hearing in children with both hearing aids and cochlear implants increased the sensitivity of children to hearing at different frequencies by synergistic effect. So that the patients with binaural double mode have higher hearing ability, especially in spatial location, speech discrimination,Speech perception(in noise environment)has advantages. Therefore, patients with residual hearing in non-implanted ears are encouraged to have binaural double mode.
