Analysis On The Results Of Screening And Confirmation For Anti-HIV-1/2 Or HIV Nucleic Acid Test And Population Characteristics In Hefei

Objective To study epidemiological characteristics of human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)in donors and demographic characteristics of anti-HIV reactive individuals in Hefei,in order to recruit low risk blood donors,to establish a suitable blood screening strategy,and to reduce the risk of transmission of HIV through blood.Methods In Anhui blood center,the samples were tested by the third generation ELISA reagent and the fourth generation ELISA reagent between January 2014 and December2017.If two ELISA test were both non-reactive,the samples were tested by NAT.The samples of one ELISA test was reactive or both ELISA reactive,the samples were tested afterward by WB.Statistics of Anhui blood center since January 2014 to December2017 years screening test for HIV reactive donors profiles and the results of WB.Results There were 448 348 samples tested by ELISA,and 1012 samples were ELISA reactive.Of these,1012 donors could be classified successfully by WB: 77 true positives(both of ELISA test was reactive),confirmation positive rate was 7.6%.Of these 77 positive donors,74 donors were males,3 were females;47 donors were younger than 30 years old(61.0%);60 donors were first time donors(77.9%).During four years,430 224 samples were tested by NAT,10 samples were NAT reactive,these samples were identified negative.Conclusion It is concluded that the HIV positive rate of donors was higher in Hefei in recent years.They were younger than 30 years old and first time male donors.To reduce the risk of HIV transmission through blood transfusion,consulting to this specific demographic is very important.
