Objective The aim of our study is to explore the clinical features of stroke in children under fourteen years' old and its possible risk factors.Methods By logging the first occurrence of stroke in children between the ages of 1 month-14 year old in First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University hospital from January 2003 to December 2011 with clinical manifestations like sudden headache,paralysis etc,and those patients should have been testified by CT or MRI to prove the fresh stroke.All patients were enrolled from the filtration by ICD code which had the stroke.According to the random principle,by the use of the 1:4 case-control study,the continuous extraction same period of hospitalization diagnosis of non-stroke patients as a clinical control group.All clinical features had been noted and compared within the group stroke and controller group to explore the potential risk factors.Results This study included a total of 62 cases about children with stroke between 2003 and 2010.And the average annual hospital's incidence of children stroke is 0.19/10 0000.The incidence of nosocomial in 2003-2009 had not significantly increased trend.However,it significantly increased between 2010 and 2011.Stroke of the Child on the age of onset Features:reporting the most common number of children are the ages of>10 years old to? 14 years of age old,there is a total 25 cases(40.32%),followed>1 year old to ? 4 the age old,there is 16 cases(25.81%);the cases ? 1 month to?1 year old has 11 cases(17.74%),the age of>4 year old to ?10 year old,accounting for 16.13%,comparing the two is basically the same.Complex and diverse clinical symptoms:the most common single paralysis or hemiplegia accounted for 46.77%,seizures(24.19%).AIS patients and HS patients,their morbidity and mortality in the case group there are gender differences men were significantly more than women.Multivariate analysis results suggest that:hyponatremia,physical infection,congenital heart disease and complications are risk factors.Conclusion This study suggests that the average annual incidence of stroke in children is low.There are more men than women.And children age at 1 to 4 years and 10 years to 14 years of age have a higher prevalence.The clinical manifestation of limb paralysis is more common,but more children will appear seizures as the first symptom of its distinctive features.The hyponatremia,physical infection,congenital heart disease may be a risk factor for stroke in children.
