Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of self-prescribed Qi Shen Yi Xin decoction in treating diastolic heart failure(Qi and Yin Deficiency Syndrome),and to provide new ideas for the treatment of diastolic heart failure(Qi and Yin Deficiency Syndrome).Method:Used self-prescribed Qi Shen Yi Xin decoction to treat 40 patients that both met the testing criterion and with prior conventional Western medicine treatment. For a total of 4 weeks.Observed and recorded TCM symptom score, serum B-type brain natriuretic peptide level,C-reactive protein level, and echocardiographic E/A ratio before and after receiving the treatment.Results:1.Compared to before the treatment, the total effective rate of TCM symptoms was 85.00%and both the TCM symptom scores and the total score decreased, giving statistical significance to the study(P<0.05);2.Level of BNP was lower after receiving treatment, giving statistical significance to the study(P<0.05);3.Level of C-reactive protein was lower after receiving treatment, giving statistical significance to the study(P<0.05);4.Echocardiographic E/A ratio increased after receiving treatment, giving statistical significance to the study(P<0.05).Conclusion:Patients with both diastolic heart failure(Qi and Yin Deficiency Syndrome)and prior conventional Western medicine treatment could be treated with Qi Shen Yi Xin decoction to improve the TCM symptoms, reduce serum BNP level, reduce CRP level, improve diastolic function, and improve E/A ratio.
