Background and purpose of research: Knee Osteoarthritis(KOA)is a relatively common chronic disease in orthopaedics. The main clinical manifestations are knee pain and activity limitation.Laterally,Knee Osteoarthritis(KOA)can cause knee deformity and stiffness, which seriously affects the lives of patients quality. With the improvement of the quality of life, more and more elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis choose surgical treatment to relieve the irritation of the knee joint and improve the quality of life.At present, with the development of medical prosthesis technology and total knee arthroplasty surgery,Total Knee Arthroplasty(TKA)has become a recognized effective method to resolve knee joint pain and rebuild knee joint function.Follow-up and retrospective analysis were performed on 145 patients with TKA who had undergone unilateral TKA in our hospital. The changes in local skin temperature and limb swelling around the knee joint under normal unilateral total knee arthroplasty were studied. The knee joint function was scored at different time points(hospital score for the special surgery knee score of the American special surgery hospital, referred to as the HSS score)to reveal the local skin around the knee joint under normal unilateral total knee arthroplasty.Temperature, limb swelling, and changes in knee function scores. Methods: 145 patients undergoing primary unilateral total knee arthroplasty performed preoperatively, postoperative days, and after the surgery on the 4th day,the 5th day,the 6th day,the 7th day,the 2nd week, the Four weeks, week 12,week 24,week 36,and week 48.The skin temperature at different time points during the week, the 36 th week and the 48 th week was monitored and recorded for statistical analysis and for the patients before and after the surgery on the 4th day,the 5th day,the 6th day,the 7th day,the 2nd week, the Four weeks, week 12,week 24,week 36,week 48 were measured at different sites of the affected limb(10 cm below the tibial tubercle, central area of tibia,5 cm abovetibia,10 cm above tibia)and analyzed statistically. The changes of local skin temperature and limb swelling around the knee joint under normal unilateral total knee arthroplasty were obtained, and at the same time, the first week, the second week, and the first postoperative period of the affected knee joint were assessed by the HSS score method. The knee function scores at the 4th week, the 12 th week, the 24 th week, the 36 th week, and the 48 th week were recorded and statistically analyzed. Results: The preoperative knee temperature at the knee joint was significantly higher than that at the affected knee joint(t=2.886,p=0.005).The preoperative knee temperature at the knee(mean = 33.2 ±1.21)was significant.Skin temperature below the preoperative knee joint skin temperature(mean = 33.4 ± 1.17)skin temperature, postoperative skin temperature was significantly higher than before surgery.postoperative knee joint skin temperature gradually decreased. There was no statistical significance between the skin temperature data of the two groups at postoperative week 36 and week 48(p>0.1),The affected limbs(10 cm below the tibial tubercle, central area of tibia,5 cm above tibia,10 cm above tibia). The peripheral diameters of the four different sites showed a gradual decrease, and the covariance analysis was used between the two groups of week length data at the 12 th week and the 24 th week after operation shows no statistical significance.Postoperative limb knee function score(HSS score)significantly improved compared with preoperatively;as time progressed, knee joint function score gradually increased,to the postoperative 12 weeks and 24 th Knee function score data between the two groups were not statistically significant with covariance analysis(p>0.1).Conclusions:The preoperative skin temperature of the affected knee joint was higher than that of the healthy limb knee joint. It provided reference value for the diagnosis of osteoarthritis of the knee joint;the postoperative skin temperature of the affected limb was significantly higher than before surgery. The skin temperature gradually decreased until the skin temperature at the 36 th week after the operation no longer changed;the swelling of the affected limbs(10 cm below the tibial tubercle, central area of tibia,5 cm above tibia,10 cm above tibia)gradually decreased with time, and the swelling of the affected limb was observed at the 12 th week after operation. No change was stable;postoperative knee limb function score(HSS score)was significantly higher than before surgery. As time progressed, knee joint function scores of the affected limb gradually increased, and theknee joint function was reached at the 12 th week after operation.Ratings no longer increase and stabilize at a certain level.
