Objective:To investigate the correlation between protein and mRNA expression of gene BRCA1 in epithelial urethra cancer. Methods:The expression of mRNA was detected by Real-time PCR,while the immunohistochemistry was used to examine the protein expression of BRCA1.Then the relationship between the expression of mRNA and protein was analyzed. Results:The positive rate of immunohistochemistry was 88%,while the negative rate was 12%.Meanwhile according to the result of real-time PCR,the low expression rate of mRNA was 64%,the middle expression rate was 36%,and there was no high-level expression being found.A significantly positive correlation was found between mRNA and protein of BRCA1 in epithelial urethra cancer tissues. Conclusion:According to the experiment,PCR and immunohistochemistry are both alternative methods for detecting expression of BRCA1,with imumuohistochemistry being recommended as a better choice for it is simpler in processes and cheaper in price.
