Studies On The Hypoglycemic Effects Of Extracts Of Ornithogalum Caudatum Ait

With the development of society and the improvement of living standards,the incidence of diabetes is increasing.Diabetes mellitus is a common endocrine diseases,mainly related to the body's insulin secretion,the basic feature is elevated blood sugar.Now,diabetes has become a global disease,It is urgent to find a safe,effective and economic drugs to prevent and treat the diabetes.Ornithogalum caudatum AIT(Ornithogalum caudatum Ait)is a liliaceous plant,first as an ornamental plant introduced into our country,as found the high medicinal value,especially has good anti-inflammatory sterilization and anti-tumor effect.As many studies on the chemical composition of Ornithogalum caudatum AIT,they found that contains a lot of Ornithogalum caudatum AIT saponins and sugar.Research shows that many Chinese medicine have hypoglycemic effect contains saponin and carbohydrate.Therefore,through the point of view of the Ornithogalum caudatum ethanol extracts AIT which containing sugars and saponin,study on blood glucose,to find whether it has the treatment or adjuvant treatment on diabetes.In this paper use the model of alloxan induced diabetic mice,systematically to lavage in mice model with high,medium and low three different dose of Ornithogalum Caudatum Ait extracts.through the determination of mice blood glucose,total cholesterol,triglyceride numerical changes to study whether Ornithogalum Caudatum Ait have the hypoglycemic function.The Ornithogalum Caudatum Ait extract could significantly reduce the alloxan diabetes mice blood sugar levels;Different dose groups of diabetes in kunming mice have certain control effects on total cholesterol,triglycerides,and have dose dependent tendency.According to the results,further separate the Ornithogalum Caudatum Ait extract with different polarity of organic solvent by n-butyl alcohol,ethyl acetate,chloroform,isolated from four different polar parts,respectively lavage in the model of alloxan induced diabetic mice,by measuring the mice blood glucose,total cholesterol,triglyceride numerical changes,to find the Ornithogalum Caudatum Ait fall blood sugar function effective part.The n-butanol extract of Ornithogalum Caudatum Ait can effectively reduce the blood sugar of alloxan induced diabetic mice,water second,chloroform?ethyl acetate phase can not reduce the blood glucose of alloxan diabetes mice.N-butanol phase and water phase on diabetes mice have certain adjustment to the total cholesterol and triglycerides.
