Peanut is the world’s main oil crop and cash crop,and it is also one of China’s most internationally competitive foreign exchange earning agricultural products.Peanut harvesting has the following disadvantages: large harvest losses,high labor intensity,strong seasonality,and the development of China’s peanut industry is severely restricted.Therefore,the demand for peanut mechanization in various industries is extremely urgent.In China,peanut harvesting machinery is mainly suitable for flat terrain areas such as plains.In Sichuan and Guizhou,hilly areas rely on manual operations for peanut harvesting operations.The degree of mechanization is not high.It is an important part of China‘s peanut harvesting machinery that Develops peanut harvesting mechanization in hilly areas.The main research contents and conclusions in this paper are as follows:1.Through investigating and analyzing the main technical parameters of the existing peanut harvester and understanding deeply the agronomic requirements of peanut harvest.Firstly,the process and operating principle of the peanut harvester have been studied.Secondly,the design goals and parameters of the peanut harvester have been determined,and lastly,the general design scheme of the peanut harvester has been determined.2.The key components of the peanut harvester have been designed or selected,the specific structure of the digging,vine lifting,picking,transmission and frame,etc.,have been determined,the whole machine has been designed and virtually assembled by using AutoCAD and Solid Works software,and the results in static analyses of key components with ANSYS Workbench software confirm that the structures and materials can meet the design requirements and so ensure the realization of functions such as the digging,vine lifting,picking,etc.3.A modal analysis on the frame of the peanut harvester has been performed,the vibration deformation cloud diagram of the frame under actual working conditions and the vibration frequency of each order has been analyzed,to verify that the frame meets the design requirements to prevent the machine from resonating in the specific process in the future,and then affecting the service life of the machine.The design of the peanut harvester combines the characteristics of current agricultural development,and the miniaturization of the whole machine structure meets the peanut harvesting operation requirements in the hilly areas.Overall,the operating quality of the peanut harvester basically meets the design requirements.The machine has the advantages of reasonable matching,compact structure,high harvesting efficiency,reasonable product structure,convenient operation,and safe and reliable production and operation.
