The purpose of this experiment was to study the effect of Acremonium terricola culture on high quality local chicken. The growth performance, nutrient metabolic rate and intestinal digestive enzyme activity were measured to determine the growth promotion;the cecal microbial flora and muscle nutrient analysis were carried out to explore the effects of the Acremonium terricola culture on intestinal microbial diversity and muscle nutrient content.A total of 320 5-week-old Frizzle hens with similar body weight were randomly divided into 8 groups with 4 replicates in each group and 10 chickens in each replicate. There was no significant difference between the groups(P > 0.05).Group 1 was the control group, fed with basal diet, and groups 2-8 were fed with diets supplemented with different levels of Acremonium terricola culture. The addition levels of the Acremonium terricola culture were 0.03%,0.06%,0.09%,0.12%,0.15%,0.18% and 0.21%,respectively.The other nutrients were the same, and the trial period was 8 weeks. The results show that:(1)Growth performance: the ADG and ADFI of 5-8 weeks Frizzle chickens were significantly improved(P < 0.05);the ADFI of 9-12 weeks Frizzle chickens was significantly increased(P < 0.05);the weight gain of group 4-6 was significantly increased(P < 0.05),the ADG and ADFI of group 5 and group 6 were significantly increased(P < 0.05),and the ADFI and F/G of group 5 and group 6 were significantly decreased(P < 0.05).In summary, the effect of group 6 on 5-8 weeks and 9-12 weeks was better;from the whole feeding stage at 5-12 weeks, the weight gain,ADG and F/G of Frizzle chickens were larger than group 5 and group 6 and indicated that group 5 and group 6 could obtain higher daily gain and lower F/G.(2)Nutrient metabolism rate: the utilization rates of DM,GE,CP and EE at 5-8 weeks Frizzle chickens were significantly increased by adding Acremonium terricola culture to the diet(P < 0.05).Compared with the group 1,the utilization rates of Ash,P in group 8 and Ca,P in group 5 were significantly increased(P < 0.05);at 9-12 weeks, the utilization rates of DM,GE,CP and EE in group 5 were significantly increased(P < 0.05).Compared with group 1,the utilization rates of GE,DM and EE in Frizzle chickens were significantly increased(P < 0.05),and the utilization rates of Ca and CP in group 5 and 8 were higher(P < 0.05).In conclusion, the nutrient utilization rate of Frizzle chicken was higher when the addition amount of Acremonium terricola culture were group 5 and group 8.(3)Digestive enzyme: at 5-8 weeks, the protease activity of group 4 was higher(P < 0.05),the lipase activity of group 4,6,8 were higher(P < 0.05),and the amylase activity of group 5 was higher(P < 0.05);at 9-12 weeks the protease activity of group 1 was lower(P < 0.05),the lipase activity of group 6 was significantly higher(P < 0.05),and the amylase activity of group 5 was significantly higher than other groups(P < 0.05).In conclusion, the digestive enzyme activity of Frizzle chickens were better when the addition amount of the culture were group 5 and group 6.(4)Caecal microbial diversity: at the 8th week, the abundance of Ruminal bacteria,Spirillaceae,Rumen bacteria,Faecalis and Ramulus in 0.15%(group 6)was higher than control group(group 1)(P < 0.05);at the 12 th week, the abundance of Lactobacillus,Candida saccharimonas,Rumen bacteria,Cholephilus and Ramulus in 0.15%(group 6)was higher than control group(group 1)(P < 0.05).In conclusion, the microbial abundance of 0.15%(group 6)was higher than control group(group 1),and the cecal microbial abundance of Frizzle chickens was more.(5)Muscle nutrient content: at 5-8 weeks, the content of CP in group 3 and 4 of pectoral muscle was significantly increased(P < 0.05),the content of CP in group 3,5,6 of leg muscle and ash content of group 6 and group 7 were significantly increased(P < 0.05),the contents of total amino acids, essential amino acids, nonessential amino acids and flavor amino acids of pectoral muscle at 0.15%(Group 6)and Lys content of leg muscle at 0.15%(Group 6)were significantly increased(P < 0.05).at 9-12 weeks, the contents of CP and ash in group 3 and group 2 were significantly increased(P < 0.05);the water content of group 3 was significantly increased(P < 0.05),and the contents of CP and EE in group 5 were the highest(P < 0.05).In conclusion, the content of nutrients in pectoral muscle and leg muscle of Frizzle chickens was higher when the addition amount of Acremonium terricola culture was group 5.Conclusion: Acremonium terricola culture can improve the growth performance, nutrient metabolism rate, muscle nutrient content, intestinal digestive enzyme activity and cecal microbial abundance.Under the condition of this experiment, the optimum addition amount of Acremonium terricola culture in diet of Frizzle chicken was 0.15% at 5-12 weeks.
