Study On Criteria And Management Strategies Of High Conservation Value Forest In Huangmian State-owned Forest Farm In Guangxi

High conservation value forest(HCVF)certification makes the understanding of the value and importance of forest clear,has important reference value for the forestry classification management,forest ecological benefit compensation as well as the nature reserve construction.We identified the types of HCVFs in Huangmian forest farm with reference to 6 types of HCVFs established by the world wide fund for nature(WWF),combined with forest resource of Huangmian forest farm,expert consultation,and field investigation,and then we put forward HCVFs management strategies,main conclusions are as follows:(1)The area of HCVFs of Huangmian forest farm is 5,719.7 hm2 and the stock of Huangmian forest farm is 347,734 m3.Its origin is mainly natural forest,mostly distributed in the sub-farms of Shatang,Luoqingjiang and Bozhai.The main tree species are broad-leaved trees,most of which are near mature forests;the HCVFs includes three categories that can be divided into five small kinds,which are HCVF4(ecological service function forest),HCVF5(meeting basic needs forest)and HCVF6(traditional culture forest),HCVF4 divided into 3 small kinds: catchments area protection forest,erosion control forest,and fire prevention forest,respectively.(2)The use of HCVF4 is watershed protection,erosion control,and important barrier for a destructive fire,HCVF4 is the main type of HCVFs in Huangmian forest farm,with area accounted for 98.32% of the total area and stock accounted for 99.30% of the total stock.Among the 3 small kind of HCVF4,area of watershed protection forest is the largest.(3)HCVF5 is used for water security of community residents,with an area of 96.0 hm2 and stock of 2390 m3,which is mainly distribution in Banle sub-farm,the area of plantation is more than natural forest area.Broad leaved tree species are the dominant tree specie of the HCVF5,and this HCVF is given priority to the stands which can’t be division of forest age group clearly for example,shrubs.(4)HCVF6 is centred on a martyr’s tomb in the 50 m,with mature plantation of Camphora officinarum,Pinus massonianaanshu,bamboo,and eucalyptus,its area is 0.3 hm2,stock is 45 m3 in Bozhai sub-farm.(5)Near nature forest management pattern should be used for commercial,managed,and water security forests,so that the forest can avoid excessive human disturbance,water source-related stands must maintain the environmental hygiene;Ecological protection management pattern should be adopted for the fully closed high conservation value forest;Regeneration harvest utilization pattern should be used for the fire prevention forest,the tending measurements is artificial regeneration,weeding and fertilization in the young forest,thinning the dense mature forest,control of diseases and insect pests and human destruction.Near nature forest management pattern should be used for the forest around the martyrs’ tomb,the eucalyptus should be felled properly and then replanted with rare tree specie,while other trees shouldn’t be harvested.Use adaptive monitoring measures for different HCVFs,the main methods are instantly random monitoring,permanent plot monitoring,management operation monitoring,relevant side interviewing monitoring.
