Due to limited stress resistance,moderate production performance and forage value of clovers,their planting is often restricted in the central and western regions of Inner Mongolia.In order to screen out excellent clover forages suitable for planting in our area,which has strong resistance and high feeding value,Trifolium.L late-maturity is used as the main research object,and Trifolium.L early-maturity and red clover are used as the control materials,through field cultivation experiments,the biological characteristics,regenerative grass characteristics,photosynthetic characteristics,resistance and nutritional quality were studied,to comprehensively evaluate the excellent properties and utilization value of Trifolium.L late-maturity.The results are as follows:(1)The growth period of Trifolium.L late-maturity is 130 days,which is 54 days later than that of Trifolium,L early-maturity.The green period is the same,the vegetative growth period is more longer and buds and flowers are more late;The growth rate and growth intensity of Trifolium.L late-maturity are better than Trifolium.L early-maturity;The number of branches per plant is the main factor affecting its biomass,The shoot regeneration of Trifolium.L late-maturity is mostly in the leaf axils,the stubble should be better more higher.(2)The photosynthetic rate of Trifolium.L late-maturity is not different from that of Trifolium.L early-maturity,but it is lower than that of red clover,and the water use efficiency is significantly higher than that of red clover,which is an important physiological feature of drought resistance.(3)The drought resistance and salt resistance of seeds during germination are the same as that of seedlings during cold and drought resistance,ranked from strong to weak Trifolium.L late-maturity>Trifolium.L early-maturity>red clover.The order of alkali-resistant during seed germination from strong to weak is Trifolium.L early-maturit>Trifolium.L late-maturity>red clover;The tolerance of Na2CO3 is superior to NaCl of three tested seeds.(4)Three tested materials are mowed best at the bud stage;The nutritional quality of the second crop is better than the first crop The content of total flavonoids of Trifolium.L late-maturity in branching period is higher,The content of flavonoids in two stubble of regenerated grass in Trifolium.L late-maturity is significantly higher than that in Trifolium.L early-maturity,and the content of flavonoids in the second regeneration grass is higher than that in the first regeneration grass.
