Since the success of gibberellin-induced 'Rose Dew' grapes seednessless,numerous grapevine(V.Labrusca)have been cultivated without seeds.It was established and promoted the production of grapevine(V.Labrusca).However,the induction of seedlessness in grapevine(V.Vinifera)was not very successful and stable.A comprehensive study was designed to understand the mechanism and the feasibility of streptomycin(SM)and gibberellin(GAs)to inducing seedlessness in grapevine(V.Vinifera).The application of SM and GAs were applied on the ?Cardinal? ?Muscat Hamburg? grapevine at a different time period with various concentrations.11 days before the flowering until 4 days after flowering,?Cardinal? ?Muscat Hamburg? grapevine were dipped in Different concentrations of SM alone or with the combination of GAs.All treatments investigated the number of spikes in the ear during the hard-core period and calculated the fruit set rate.The following parameters: the weight of single seed,with or without seeds and seed numbers of seeded fruit and the content of anthocyanin in the peel,total soluble solid(TSS)and titrated acid(TA)in the juice were immediately measured after the harvesting from the physiological mature grape.The paraffin method used to cut the flower longitudinally and then observed the development of ovule and embryo sac.As well as,to calculate the number of pollen tube that reached to the ovary of the respected flower.The following results were obtained:1.The effect of SM 200 mg/L alone or with the combination of GAs were induced 100% seedlessness from11 days before flowering to until 4 days of flowering.The only GAs application was less effective in the same period as mentioned above.2.The rate of seedlessness regarding SM(50,100 and 200mg/L)at the full bloom stage was 100%.The same rate was also observed with treatment of SM 200mg/L + GAS 25mg/L and SM 200mg/L + GAS 40mg/L.The impact of SM 200 mg/L alone or with GAs 25mg/L were effectively induced seedless fruiting in the grapevine(Vitis Vinifera L.).3.The application of SM 200mg/L or with GAs 25mg/L not only can lead the grapevine(Vitis vinefera×V.labrusca)seedlessness but also improve the quality of fruit berry such as the TSS.4.SM treatment inhibited the germination of stigma pollen grain and elongation of pollen tube at all parts of the pistil 11 days before flowering to until 4 days of flowering..However,the number of pollen tubes that reched the micropyle was still 0.8-1.4(control 3.8)5.The SM treatment showed the normal ovule and embryo sac rate at the full bloom was lower than 16.6%(control 94.17%).The abnormal development of pistil ovules and embryo sacs after SM treatment is the main reason for its induction of seedlessness.6.Nutritional growth of both varieties was not affected by the treatments on the length of tips,diameter at the base of the tips,leaf size of the borne fruit spikes,and fruit spike grains.
