The effect of biochar on yield and quality of capsicum under different nitrogen conditions was studied by pot experiment using‘Jinfu 803'as the material.The nitrogen levels are 5 kg/667m~2?25 kg/667m~2?45 kg/667m~2.There are four biochar application ratios for each nitrogen level.There are four biochar application ratios under each nitrogen level,which are 0%?0.7%?1.4%and 2.1%of matrix dry weight.The growth status,fruit quality and yield characters of potted pepper were analyzed in order to determine the effect of biochar combined with nitrogen fertilizer on the cultivation of Capsicum capsicum.Theoretical basis for the Application of Biochar and nitrogen Fertilizer in Open Field cultivation of Pepper.the results of the test study are as follows:When the nitrogen level was 25 kg/667m2,the porosity of matrix and the content of base hydrolyzed nitrogen were increased.When nitrogen was too high,the contents of base hydrolyzed nitrogen,available phosphorus and available potassium were significantly decreased.The nitrogen application rate of 25 kg/667m~2 and the amount of biochar 1.4%were beneficial to increase the available potassium and the accumulation of available phosphorus in the substrate.The physical and chemical properties of the substrate were better,and the growth and development of plant roots were favorable.With the increase of nitrogen application rate,the plant height and stem diameter of capsicum showed an increasing trend.At the nitrogen level of 25 kg/667m~2,the plant height,stem diameter,leaf area and fruit fresh weight were significantly increased when the amount of biochar was 0.7%,and the next was when the amount of biochar was 1.4%at the same nitrogen level.Under the nitrogen level of 25 kg/667m~2,the chlorophyll content of capsicum was significantly increased and the content of MDA was decreased.The content of chlorophyll,root activity and POD activity of the chilli pepper were increased by 0.7%of the biomass carbon.When the nitrogen level was 25 kg/667m~2 and the amount of biological carbon was0.7%,the chlorophyll content and antioxidant enzyme activity of the pepper leaves were significantly increased.At the same nitrogen level,the root activity of POD was the highest when the amount of biochar was 1.4%.When the nitrogen level was 25 kg/667m~2,the yield of capsicum could be increased when the amount of biochar was 0.7%and 1.4%,and the yield of pepper was the highest when the amount of biochar was 1.4%.The content of soluble protein and vitamin C in capsicum was significantly increased by adding 0.7%carbon to 25 kg/667m~2 nitrogen fertilizer.When the amount of biochar was 1.4%at the same nitrogen level,it was more beneficial to the accumulation of organic acid and soluble sugar in capsicum.In conclusion,proper addition of biochar can improve matrix physical and chemical properties,chlorophyll content,enzyme activity,yield and fruit quality.The growth state of capsicum was excellent at 25 kg/667m~2 of nitrogen level and 1.4%of biochar,which was helpful to increase yield and improve quality.It was the best combination of different biochar and nitrogen fertilizer for pepper growth.
