Investigation And Scientific Verification On The Ethnic Application Of Rose In Duyun,guizhou Province

Rose is the Rosaceae plant,which originates in northern China and is cultivated all over the country.With largest number in Shandong,Jiangsu,Zhejiang and Guangdong province.There is a custom of planting roses in Duyun,Guizhou province.The local Buyi people often use the rose as both food and medicine material.The cultivation of roses in Duyun is mainly concentrated in Pinglang town.The main cultivar is Guizhou honey sweet edible rose(Ghs rose).In order to obtain the information of resource distribution,edible value and medicinal value,ethnological field research,antibacterial experiments and animal experiment were carried out.The results are as follows.Resource investigation results: The planting scale in Pinglang is about about 200 mu.The Ghs rose has the characteristics of high yield,long flowering period,unique fragrance,strong pest resistant ability and adapted the weather in Guizhou where is always rainy and cloudy days of a year,which have high economic value and great development potential.Food value investigation results: Rose food in Pinglang includes rose tea,rose honey,rose sauce,rose sauce meat,rose moon cake,rose wine,rose vinegar,rose dumplings,rose home-made dishes,etc.Medicinal value investigation results:Local residents believe that roses can treatment traumatic injury,breast diseases,dysmenorrhea,oral odor,ulcer.And rose can antialcoholic and maintain beauty.Antimicrobial experiment results:The antimicrobial effect of Ghs rose is the best among 7 different varieties of rose.For Ghs rose,the large polarity solvent extraction part is better than that of small polarity solvent extraction part.The antimicrobial effect of Ghs rose which picked in May is better than which picked in other months.Anti-alcoholism experiment results: The drunken latency of mice which have taken Ghs extraction increased by 68% compared with the blank control mice,and the sleep reaction time and wake-up time decreased by 49% and 41% respectively.The antialcoholic effect of honey rose was verified.Conclusion: Through ethnological field research obtained the resource information of Ghs rose,food value and medicinal value in Pinglang town.Though the scientific experiments,verified the folk recognizing and knowledge of Pingliang people is effective,which provides a scientific basis for the development new medicines using roses as raw materials.
