With the advancement of industrialization and urbanization, the countryside is generally faced with a dilemma.Under this scenario, traditional industries,as the original driving force of village development, have irreplaceable value for the revitalization of the village. Not only that, the traditional industry still constitutes one of the integration forces of the village itself, which will also have an impact on the village's cohesiveness and village identity. This study attempts to use the non-structural interview method to explore the relationship between the development of local sericulture and the change of village identity since the founding of the People's Republic of China. The study found that the influence of sericulture on village identity can be divided into economic, emotional and cultural aspects. The government policy not only directly affects the spatial layout of the sericulture in the country, but also the government's technical guidance, material support, and direction guidance play a pivotal role in the development of the sericulture. In this process, changes in the production model have replaced the originally dispersed small family business model with the economic community of villages.Under the collective economy, the development of the sericulture has enhanced the collective sense of honor of the villagers. The villagers have integrated the daily life around the sericulture and are closely connected with the sericulture. After that, the implementation of the household contract responsibility system and the development of the market economy all affected the traditional industry-village identification chain.Specifically, the household contract responsibility system has separated sericulture production from the collective economy and further released the industrial vitality.Since sericulture has become the main source of household income during this period, people's village identity is mainly reflected in the recognition of industrial benefits. The emotional interaction triggered by sericulture has enhanced the cohesiveness of the villagers.During this period, the development of the sericulture has been positively promoting the emergence of village identity. After the mid-1990 s,China's market economy accelerated and the rural labor force gradually shifted to industry. The sericulture entered a continuous recession due to the comparative disadvantage of income. The population in the village is frequent, the sericulture lacks awareness and the emotion is missing. This trend prompted the country to make an industrial adjustment of “moving east mulberry to west” project in 2006.Since then,Ji Licun has begun to cultivate sericulturerelated cultural brands to continue the sericulture culture.Cultural identity began to counteract the promotion of the sericulture culture industry under the impetus of the village elite. Therefore, the development of industry and identity is a gradual process.Generally speaking, this study provides a reference for the industrial upgrading and transformation, revitalizing the rural culture and improving the villagers' sense of identity.
