Several edible lilies were used as experimental materials and the growth and physiological indexes of the edible lily were measured after applying a single neutral salt NaCl solution. The physiological indexes of edible lily were determined by natural drought.Ornamental value of lilies and flavor of bulb were evaluated. The edible lily with high drought resistance and salt resistance,as well as high ornamental value and good taste was screened out, which provided reference for the multifunction of planting lily in Inner Mongolia. The main findings were as follows:(1)With the increment of NaCl concentration, several edible lilies showed yellow leaves, withered bottom leaves and abscission at different degrees.Above ground part of N136 and N9 died under high concentration stress(140mmol/L).NaCl stress resulted in the decrease of photosynthetic indexes such as Tr,Gs,Pn,Fv/Fm and Chl content. The activity of SOD enzyme and POD enzyme decreased and the content of electrolyte permeability,MDA content,Pro content and SP content increased under NaCl stress. The edible lilies with better salt resistance were screened out as N4,N138,N6,N142,N82,N141 and N140.(2)With the increment of drought stress, the Chl content,SOD enzyme and POD enzyme activity of several edible lilies decreased in varying degrees, while the contents of MDA,SP and Pro increased.N82,N140,N6 and N143 were selected as varieties with higher drought resistance.(3)By measuring the growth indexes of edible lily such as plant height and stem diameter,it was found that Lilium davidii var unicdor cotton and N3 had lower plant height and smaller flower diameter, and were not suitable for cut flowers;N138 and N141 had no fragrance, while the other varieties had high fragrance.However,N4,N6,N9,N136,N142 and N143 had plant height higher, more flower heads, beautiful and fragrant flowers, and high value;N82 had bicolor petal.(4)It was found that N4,N9,N2,N138,N140,N141,N142 and N143 tasted bitter and astringent at the first bite or aftertaste, and were not suitable for fresh food, while N3 tasted insipid.N6,N82 and N136 had better varieties with crisp and sweet scales.(5)Considering the salt resistance, drought resistance, ornamental and taste evaluation of edible lily,N6 and N82 were selected as new edible lily varieties to be planted in Inner Mongolia.
