In order to study the effects of PEG treatment on the growth and yield components of different genotypes of millet seedlings,a three-year trial was conducted.In 2016,two conventional millet varieties,Gongxiao 5 and Nenxun 17 were selected for the experiment(0%(%)CK),5%,10%,15%,20%,25%)of PEG 8000 soaked for 24 h to study the germination potential,germination rate and germination index of different concentrations of PEG on seedlings and seedling root length The influence of the bud length.In the 2017 trial,100 different genotypes of millet were selected.According to the results,15% of PEG was selected to treat millet,soaked for 24 h,and CK was soaked in clear water for 24 h to study the effect of PEG on different genotypes of millet.The effects of heading date,growth period,and main agronomic traits such as ear length,ear diameter,ear weight,and 1000-grain weight.In 2018,30 different genotypes of millet were selected for PEG treatment in 2017,and the effects of PEG treatment on photosynthetic parameters,physiological characteristics,main agronomic traits,morphological indexes and yield components of millet were studied.The main findings are as follows:1.The germination ability and vigor of Gongxiao 5 and Nen No.17 were significantly improved after treatment with different concentrations of PEG.The germination potential,germination rate,and germination index were all significantly higher than those of CK,and the treatment with 15% PEG showed a more significant ability.Through two-way analysis of variance,the root length reached a very significant difference between varieties and concentrations,and the shoot length was not significant among the varieties,and the concentration was extremely significant.The root length and bud length of Gongxiao 5 were increased by 0.65 cm and 1.25 cm compared with CK under 15% PEG treatment.The tender length and bud length of Tengxuan 17 were increased by 2.26 cm and 0.42 cm compared with CK under 15% PEG treatment.The growth period of different millet varieties is different.Between 108 d and 130 d,the growth period of most varieties is 115 d.After PEG treatment,the earing is advanced,the maturity is advanced,and the growth period is shortened by 1-2 days.After the gluten treatment,the millet is treated with PEG.The plant height reached a very significant difference between the varieties and the treatment,and the plant height increased by 2.71%-48.25%.There were differences in stem diameter between varieties,and the difference between treatments was not obvious,indicating that PEG treatment had little effect on millet stem diameter.There are correlations between the main agronomic traits of millet,ear length,ear diameter,total number of yards,number of code grains and ear weight.After gluten treatment,the total number of grains increased,in the range of 80-119 and 120-150,each ear The total number of codes increased by 7.89 % and 29.41 % respectively compared with the control CK.3 In 2018,based on 2017,the test results were further verified,the main agronomic traits and yield were measured,and the dry matter weight,SPAD value and photosynthetic parameters of the shoots and the activities of SOD,POD and CAT in millet leaves were measured.The results showed that there were significant positive correlations between photosynthetic parameters and yields in different millet varieties and treatments.PEG treatment could increase the net photosynthetic rate,transpiration rate and stomatal conductance of crops,thereby increasing the yield and yield of millet.Increased by 5.39 %-145.61 %.After PEG treatment,the activities of SOD,POD and CAT reached extremely significant levels,which were increased in different degrees compared with the control.There was a significant positive correlation between the physiological activity of millet and dry matter accumulation,so the dry matter accumulation Increase by 1.39 %-15.52 %.The above results indicate that PEG treatment can improve the seed vigor of millet and ultimately achieve the purpose of increasing yield.In summary,after treatment with PEG,millet can increase seed vigor and increase millet yield.
