Study On Forest Change In Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region During The Republic Of China Period

The development of forestry in China should not only learn from foreign experience and technology,but also inherit and absorb China's excellent forestry historical and cultural traditions.The Republic of China is an important period of China's modernization transformation.The development and changes of forestry in this period have a direct impact on forestry and environment since the beginning of New China.Therefore,to carry out forestry research in Beijing,Tianjin and Hebei during the Republic of China has certain reference significance for the current coordinated development of forestry in Beijing,Tianjin and Hebei and the construction of ecological civilization.This paper takes archival statistics,regional chronicles,newspapers and related works of foresters in the period of the Republic of China as the object of study to explore the forestry changes in Beijing,Tianjin and Hebei.The study found that although the forest resources in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region showed a downward trend from the Ming and Qing Dynasties to the Republic of China,diversified afforestation practices began in the Republic of China,such as the expansion of economic fruit forest planting,the slow advance of timber forest planting,and the development of special-purpose forests,which became an important part of regional forestry practice in this period.The changes of forestry practice in Beijing,Tianjin and Hebei during the Republic of China can not only reflect the dissemination and influence of forestry science and technology and ideas in modern Europe and America in the region,but also show the people's re-recognition of forest value function based on the less regional forest resources and the increase of ecological disasters.In order to promote the development of regional forestry,many scholars put forward the forest management proposition that we should attach importance to afforestation,strengthen forest protection and improve forestry education.During the period of the Republic of China,the forestry development in Beijing,Tianjin and Hebei was generally unsatisfactory.The important reasons were that forestry was not valued,the foundation of forestry education was weak,and the technology was backward.It was precisely based on the historical reflection that the forestry construction in Beijing,Tianjin and Hebei made great progress in the new China period.
