Adsorbents have been widely used in animal production, and this study was conducted to evaluate the effects of attapulgite adsorbent for zearalenone(ZEN)on the growth performance, serum biochemical indexes, digestive function, antioxidant capacity, and ZEN residues in the tissues of broilers fed diets contain a low dose of ZEN,in order to explore the validity and feasibility of its detoxification effect and to provide a laboratory basis for the application of attapulgite adsorbent for ZEN in broiler diet. This thesis consisted of 3 parts as follows:Trial 1 was to investigate the adsorption rate of attapulgite adsorbent for ZEN on nutrients and the adsorption effect of attapulgite adsorbent for ZEN on ZEN.The results showed as follows:1)the adsorption rate of attapulgite adsorbent for ZEN on ZEN reached 95%and difficult to release;2)The adsorption rate of attapulgite adsorbent for ZEN on Ca、P、Cu、Fe、Zn、Lys、VA and VB2 is low(Cu = 7%,others<5%).Trial 2 was to investigate the effects of attapulgite adsorbent for ZEN on the growth performance and digestive function of broilers fed diets containing a low dose of ZEN.A total of 320 one-day-old Arbor Acres broiler chicks were randomly allocated into 5 dietary treatments consisting of 8 replicates with 8 chicks per replicate, and were fed a basal diet supplemented with 0 g/kg(Control group),0.25 g/kg(Treatment 1 group),0.5 g/kg(Treatment 2 group),1 g/kg(Treatment 3 group)and 2 g/kg(Treatment 4 group)for 42 d,respectively. The results showed as follows:1)Compared with the control group, treatments 2 and 4 reduced the F/G of broilers from 22 to 42 d of age(linear,P = 0.003),treatment 2 reduced the F/G of broilers from 1 to 42 d of age(linear,P = 0.003);2)Compared with the control group, treatment 2,3 and 4 increased the pancreas index of broilers at 42 d of age(linear,P = 0.001),and treatments 1 and 2 increased the intestine index of broilers at 42 d of age(linear,P = 0.025;quadratic,P = 0.032);3)Treatment 2,3,4 decreased serum total cholesterol(TC)concentration of broilers at 21 d of age(linear,P<0.001 quadratic,P =0.012),and treatments all decreased serum TC concentration of broilers at 42 d of age when compared with the control group(linear,P<0.001 quadratic,P = 0.023);4)Treatments did not affect the hepatic index of broilers(P>0.05);Trial 3 was to investigate the effects of attapulgite adsorbent for ZEN on the antioxidant capacity and ZEN residues in the tissues of broilers fed diets containing a low dose of ZEN.The experimental design was the same to that in trial 2.The results showed that:1)Compared with the control group, treatment 1 decreased serum malondialdehyde(MDA)concentration of broilers at 21 d of age(quadratic,P = 0.009).Treatment 1,2,and 3 increased the activity of total superoxide dismutase(T-SOD)in the liver of broilers at 21 d of age(quadratic,P = 0.011).Treatment 1 and 3 increased the activity of T-SOD in the breast muscle of broilers at 21 d of age(quadratic,P = 0.010);2)Treatments all reduced the ZEN residue in the serum of broilers at 21 d of age(linear,P = 0.001;quadratic,P = 0.005).Treatment 4 reduced the ZEN residue in the breast muscle of broilers at 21 d of age(linear,P = 0.002).Treatments all reduced the ZEN residue in the breast muscle of broilers at 42 d of age(linear,P<0.001;quadratic,P<0.001).These results implied that the supplementation of attapulgite adsorbent for ZEN would reduce the accumulations of ZEN in the tissues of broilers, and partially reverse the negative effects of a low dose of ZEN on the growth performance, development of digestive organs and antioxidant function of broilers. The recommended addition amount of attapulgite adsorbent for ZEN is 0.5g/kg. |
