Research On The Development Of Tilapia Industry In Maoming City

Maoming City is located in the south of Guangdong Province.It has abundant fishery resources,especially in the tilapia industry.Its aquaculture output and export account for one third of Guangdong Province.Although the development of tilapia industry in Maoming City has made a breakthrough in stages,there are inevitably some problems arising from the rapid development.The purpose of this paper is to analyze the current situation and existing problems of tilapia industry in Maoming City,explore the corresponding solutions,accurately grasp the key to the development of tilapia industry,guide by the "smile curve" theory,through field surveys and questionnaire data analysis,identify the existing problems in the development of tilapia industry in Maoming City,in-depth analysis of the causes of these problems,so as to formulate and eliminate them.In addition to the effective countermeasures,the theory of tilapia industry development is more abundant and extended,which has better practical and theoretical significance.At present,the tilapia industry in Maoming City mainly consists of three parts: seedling production,aquaculture and processing,and product sales.Nevertheless,through the analysis of the current situation of the development of tilapia industry in Maoming City,we can conclude that there are still many problems in the development of tilapia industry in Maoming City,which are as follows: the development of tilapia industry is unbalanced,the industrialization degree is not high;the overall benefit level of tilapia industry is low;the development process of tilapia industry is slow;the development of tilapia industry is insufficient.There are three main reasons for these problems: first,insufficient research and cultivation of seedlings;second,inadequate breeding and processing links;third,product sales channels need to be broadened urgently.In view of these reasons,combined with the theory of smiling curve,some suggestions are put forward to promote the development of tilapia industry in Maoming City.It is expected to find out practical and feasible improvement schemes for the development of tilapia industry in Maoming City and similar areas in China.First,we should strengthen the cultivation and management of seedlings,second,we should strictly control the production and processing links,and third,we should create brand and optimize sales channels.
