| The aim of this research was to study effects of Astragalus and Pueraria extract on the production performance,serum biochemistry,serum immunity and milk composition of lactating sows.In this research,48 "long * large" binary hybrids with similar genetic background,birthrate,and delivery date were selected and randomly divided into 4 groups(12 repeats in each group,1 pig of each repeate): The control group fed the basic diet without adding Astragalus polysaccharide and Pueraria extract.The experimental groups respectively added Astragalus polysaccharide 0.2 g/kg Pueraria extract 2.5 g/kg and 0.2 g/kg Astragalus polysaccharide + 2.5 g/kg Pueraria extract group(mixed group)on the basis of the control group.A total of 28 d of this experimental cycles.The research demonstrated that:(1)The total intake of lactating sows in treatment groups wwere higher than the control group,but with no significant difference(P > 0.05).The lactation volume of lactating sows in each treatment group was higher than that of the control group(P > 0.05),but the lactation volume of lactation sows in the mixed group was 29.00% higher than the control group,with a significant difference(P < 0.05);In the mixed group,the weight of the 21 d weaned pigletS was significantly higher than the control group,and with no significant difference in the Astragalus combined with Puerarin group(P > 0.05);The diarrhea rate of piglets in each treatment group was significantly lower than the control group(P<0.05).(2)On the first day of the formal trial,the effects of Astragalus and pueraria extracts on the concentrations of total protein,urea nitrogen,glucose and triglyceride in the serum of lactating sows were not significant(P>0.05),but the concentrations of total protein,urea nitrogen,glucose and triglyceride in the serum of the mixed group were significantly different with the control group(P > 0.05).On the 10 th day of this reseach,the mixed addition of Astragalus and Pueraria extract had significant effect on the concentrations of albumin,urea nitrogen and glucose in the serum of lactating sows(P < 0.05).With no significant difference in the serum albumin,urea nitrogen and glucose concentrations between the two groups(P>0.05).On the 21 st day of this research,the concentrations of glucose,urea nitrogen and triglyceride in serum of lactating sows were significantly different between the two groups(P < 0.05),and the contents of glucose,urea nitrogen and triglyceride in the serum of lactating sows were not significantly different between the two groups(P>0.05).Compared with the control group,the concentrations of the total protein and cholesterol in the serum of lactating sows decreased,with no significant difference among all groups(P > 0.05).The concentration of total protein,albumin,glucose,urea nitrogen,total cholesterol and triglyceride in serum of suckling sows were not significantly affected as the addition of Astragalus Polysaccharide and pueraria extract(P > 0.05).There was no toxic and side effect on suckling sows fed astragalus polysaccharide and pueraria extract.(3)On the first day of the experiment,the concentration of IgA in serum of suckling sows were significantly different between Astragalus membranaceus and pueraria extract groups(P<0.01),and increased 6.9% and 8.3% respectively compared with the control group.With no significant difference of the concentration of IgG in the serum between Astragalus membranaceus and pueraria extract groups(P>0.05).On the 10 th day,With no significant difference of the concentration of IgA and IgG in the serum between Astragalus membranaceus and pueraria extract groups(P>0.05),but concentrations of IgA and IgG in each experimental group were higher than those in control group.On the 21 st day,upregulation of IgA and IgG in the serum of Astragalus membranaceus and Pueraria lobata extract groups,but with no significant difference(P>0.05).Upregulation 10.1% and 8.5% respectively IgA and IgG in serum of lactating sows of Astragalus membranaceus and pueraria root mixed group compared with the control group(P<0.05).Compared with the blank control group,the content of milk fat in colostrum increased by 39.8%,19.5% and 57.5% respectively,and the difference was very significant(P<0.01);upregulation of the concentration of milk protein and lactose in colostrum compared with the control group,with no significant difference(P > 0.05).The content of milk fat and lactose in the normal milk of lactating sows increased by 26.5%,23.8%,27.3% and 1.27%,0.64% and 17.8% respectively(P<0.05)compared with the control group.The milk protein content in serum of lactating sows increased,with no significant difference(P > 0.05)compared with the control group.This result demonstrated that Astragalus membranaceus could increase the milk fat content in colostrum and normal milk of lactating sows(P < 0.05).In conclusion,astragalus polysaccharide and pueraria extract could increase feed intake and lactation of suckling sows,upregulate concentrations of IgA and IgG in the serum of suckling sows,improve the quality of colostrum and constant milk of suckling sows,and then improve the production performance of sows and the weight of weaned piglets.The combination of Astragalus polysaccharides and pueraria lobata extract has the best effect. |
