The experiment was to study the effect of different lutein mixture on production performance,egg quality,physiological function of layers in high temperature environment,in order to select a suitable mixture to provide reference for production of layers.Two hundred and eighty eight of 47 weeks old lohmann layers was selected to divide randomly six groups of 4 replicates,each replicate had twelve layers.There were normal control group,high control group,MAR group,MAR mixture I,mixture II,mixture III in this experiment.The normal group and the high group was fed with daily diet,the MAR group was fed with diet added with 120mg/kg lutein,MAR mixture I,mixture II,mixture III was fed with 0.1%betaie,200mg/kg VC,0.2% Chinese herbal medicine,based on daily diet,respectively.The normal group and were raised in the bird house of which the average temperature and humidity were 24.35? and 58.52%,while the bird house of in which the high control group,MAR group,MAR mixture I,mixture II,mixture III were raised were 32.08? and 78.15%.The total experiment period was eight weeks,the pre-experiment period was two weeks,while the formal period was six weeks.The results are as follows.1.The results show that,under the ongoing high temperature environment,the production performance,egg quality decreases seriously and the physiological function is affected as well.In the whole period,the feed intake,mean egg weight,laying rate decreases 14.06%(P<0.01)?6.61%(P<0.05)?16.97%(P<0.01),respectively.While the mortality,broken shell rate,feed-egg ratio improved 1.83 times(P < 0.01)? 11.71%(P <0.01),compared with the normal control group.The eggshell relative weight,eggshell thickness decreases 5.00%(P<0.05)?11.30%(P<0.05).The serum glucose,triglycerides,total cholesterol of the high control group decreases 18.00%(P<0.05)?6.90%(P<0.05)?39.03%(P<0.01),respectively.The activity of serum SOD,GSH-Px improve 6.45%(P<0.05)?25.34%(P<0.05),while the MDA decreased improved 29.31%(P<0.01).These results suggest that high temperature significantly reduced production performance,eggshell quality of layers,reduced metabolism action of laying hens,and cause layers show oxidative damage.2.The lutein mixture added in the diet do much help to the bad effects,which is better than group added lutein only.While no groups can eliminate the bad effects.In all,the group added with MAR-VC proves best.(1)Effects of three lutein mixture on production performance of Layers in high temperature environment.The mortality of the high control group is 19.44%.The mortality of mixture II decreases 16.66%,compared with the high control group,while sill higher than the normal group.The order of feed intake is mixture II>mixture III>mixture I>MAR,the highest improved 11.12%(P<0.01),compared with the high control group,while still lower than the normal group.The mean egg weight of mixture I 5.52%(P<0.01),compared with the high control group,while the mean egg weight of the mixtures is not significant,the MAR group lower than(P<0.05)the normal control group.The feed-egg ratio of the high control group is 2.48.The order of feed-egg ratio is MAR group>mixture III>mixture I>mixture II,the mixture II decreases 6.85%(P<0.01)compared with the high control group,but significantly lower than the normal control group.The order of laying rate is mixture II>mixture I>mixture III>MAR group,and mixture II improve 13.93%(P<0.01)compared which the high control group,while still significantly lower than the normal control group.The broken shell rate of the high control group is 1.22%.The order of broken shell rate is MAR group>broken shell rate>mixture I>mixture II,the mixture II decreases 59.02%(P<0.01).(2)Effects of three lutein mixture on production egg quality of Layers in high temperature environment.The eggshell thickness of mixture II/III improve 9.27%(P<0.05),6.18%(P<0.05),respectively,which is significantly higher than the high control group,but not significant compared with the normal control group.The haugh unit of mixture II/III improve 2.81%(P<0.05)?2.12%(P<0.05),respectively,compared with the high control group,and not significantly higher than the normal control group.The yolk factor of mixture IIimprove 5.26%(P<0.05),which is significantly higher than the normal control group.The yolk RCF of mixture I/II/III improve 5.81%(P<0.05)?2.63%(P<0.05)?4.43%(P<0.05),respectively,which is significantly higher than the normal control group.The yolk a* of mixture II/III improve 2.83%(P<0.05),2.61%(P<0.05),respectively,which is significantly higher than the normal control group.The yolk b* of MAR and mixture I/II/III improve 4.31%(P<0.05)? 6.0%(P<0.05)? 5.85%(P<0.05)? 5.601%(P<0.05),respectively,which is not significant with the normal control group.The yolk cholesterol of mixture II/III improve 5.65%(P<0.05)?10.69%(P<0.05),respectively,which is significantly higher than the normal control group.The yolk fat content of mixture II improve 7.91%(P<0.05),respectively,which is significantly higher than the normal control group.These results suggest that the diet added with mixture II/III effectively improve the egg quality/yolk color/yolk cholesterol content.The mixture II improve yolk fat content,as well.(3)Effects of three lutein mixture on physiological function of layers in high temperature environment.The serum glucose of mixture I improve 3.16%(P<0.05)compared with the high control group.The serum triglycerides content is 4.65mmol/L,which improve 7.64%(P<0.05)compared with the high control group.The order of serum cholesterol is mixture III>mixture II>mixture I>MAR group,the mixture III improve 6.47%(P<0.05)compared which the high control group.The serum glucose /cholesterol of every test group are significantly lower than the normal control group,the serum triglycerides content are lower than the normal control group except for mixture I,the total serum protein are significantly higher than the normal control group.The order of GSH-Px activity is mixture II>mixture III>MAR>mixture I,the highest improve 92.10%(P<0.01)compared which the high control group.The MDA content of MAR/mixture II decrease35.00%(P<0.01)?24.48%(P<0.01)?12.42%(P<0.05)compared with the high control group.The SOD activity of every test group is significantly lower than the normal control group,while the GSH-Px is very significantly higher,the MDA content of MAR,mixture III is significantly lower,the mixture I,mixture II is significantly higher than the normal control group.The serum muramidase content of mixture I,MAR,mixture III,mixture IIimprove 39.91%(P<0.01)29.23%(P<0.05)?10.21%(P<0.05)?5.80%(P<0.05)compared with the high control group which is significantly higher than the normal control group The serum Ig G of mixture II improve 6.04%(P<0.05),while the yolk Ig G decreases 2.19%(P<0.05)compared with the high control group.The results show that the compound lutein mixtures effectively improve the metabolic capability,oxidizing ability,immunological function.In summary,this study reached the following main conclusions.The high temperature environment significantly reduced feed intake,egg production of layers while improve the broken shell rate,feed-egg ratio and badly affect the eggshell quality.The diet added with mixture I?II?III can significantly improve the feed intake,egg production and decrease the broken shell rate,feed-egg ratio of the layers under heat stress,which is better than the lonely MAR.The mixture II,III significantly improve the eggshell relative weight,eggshell thickness,huff unit.MAR and mixture I significantly improve the yolk RCF of layers under heat stress,mixture Iand III improve the a*value,while the MAR and its mixtures improve the b*value.The mixture Isignificantly improve the serum glucose,triglycerides of layers under heat stress,while the MAR,mixture II,III decreases serum cholesterol content.The compound lutein mixtures very significantly improve GSH-Px activity of layers under heat stress,in which the mixture IIis best.MAR,mixture II,III significantly decreases the serum MDA content,improve oxidizing ability of layers under heat stress.MAR and its mixtures effectively improve the serum muramidase content of layer under heat stress,in which the mixture III is best,while the mixture IIimprove the Ig G content of serum and yolk,so as to improve immunological function of layers under heat stress.
