| With the development of the domestic economy and the continuous improvement of living standard,the demand for keeping pets is also growing rapidly.Pet related supplies are also booming,especially pet foods.The nutritional balance of pet foods is an important guarantee for the healthy growth of pets,and it is also a place where pets need special care.This study was conducted in a number of veterinary hospitals in Guangzhou to investigate the dietary status of pet dogs,specifically to understand the pet owners’ feeding methods for dogs,the awareness of commodity grains and the use of commercial grains,and the statistics of dogs susceptible to diseases.During the period from July to December 2014,a total of 500 questionnaires were sent to several veterinary hospitals in Guangzhou and 362 valid questionnaires were collected.Comprehensive analysis of the dog owner’s gender,age,the degree of emphasis on dogs,income levels and so on.According to statistics,most of pet owners in Guangzhou are women age from 20 to 30.And the largest breed is small dog.86% of pet owners choose commodity foods,indicating that the past way of feeding dogs with family food has slowly been eliminated.Statistically speaking,dermatology and gastroenteritis are the highest-occurring diseases in dogs.The pet owner’s use of commercial food has increased over the past,indicating that pet owners in Guangzhou have been paying attention to the dog’s healthy diet.In the case of a pet dog suffering from a disease,using nutritious conditioning of the prescription food can help the dog to recover health more quickly.From February to May 2017,clinical cases of gastroenteritis were collected and there were 13 cases of symptomatic diarrhea.13 cases were divided into enteral diet group(7 cases)and normal diet group(6 cases)during hospitalization.The authors observed the condition of the dogs before and after treatment for one week and scored according to the fecal score criteria,2.0 points is divided into normal stool scores.Symptomatic treatment and use of dog food observed after one week,71% dogs’ excrement in the enteral diet group became normal in the fourth day,on the other hand,only 50% dogs’ excrement in the other group recoverd.Dogs in the enteral diet group were able to stop diarrhea more quickly,indicating that enteral diet had significant adjuvant effects during the course of disease treatment.From May to October 2017,20 patients with long-standing recurrent pruritus were collected at a hospital in Guangzhou.The 20 dogs initially diagnosed with atopic dermatitis were randomly divided into two groups: dermatological prescription food group(10 cases)and general Food group(10 cases),they were scored according to the frequency of pruritus(0 to 5 points).Before and after treatment,the degree of itching was observed and scored.The average of the dog before the treatment in the dermatological prescription food group was 2.9 points per dog,it was averaged 1.8 points per dog after four weeks of treatment;the average of the dog before the treatment in the control group was 2.8 points per dog,is was averaged 2.3 points per dog after four weeks of treatment.After four weeks,the degree of itching improvement was observed.The use of pruritus in the prescription food group had a significant reduction in pruritus compared with the control group,while the symptoms in the control group also decreased although the symptoms were still relatively obvious.It shows that in the course of treatment,the combination of feeding dermatological prescription food can effectively relieve the symptoms of pruritus,and the supplementary treatment effect of prescription grains is significant. |
