Experimental Study On Aromatic Plants With Factory Cultivation

With the improvement of people’s living standard,there is a bigger market demand for aromatic plants’ various products such as oil production.pharmaceutical,food processing,cosmetics industry and others like biological medicine and landscape construction.At the same time.more refined material of aromatic plant are required in these industries.So.it made higher demands on quality and quantity of aromatic plants.However,most aromatic plant resources are still from wild,and this traditional planting method could not be able to meet the need of production of aromatic plants as the raw material of fine chemicals.To satisfy the higher requirements and more demand for aromatic plants.technology of plant factory may be the proper method to solve the problems.For the research of aromatic plant’ breeding with technology of plant factory,we investigated the effects of different cultivation methods of aromatic plants to provide preliminary basis for plant factory promotion.Considering perspectives of seed propagation,cottage reproduction and quality improvement,we designed the following experiments.1)Eight aromatic plant seeds were used,namely,Ocimum basilicum,Mentha Canadensis,Lavandula angustifolia,Agastache rugosa,Nepeta cataria,Perilla frutescens,Rosmarinus officinalis and Dracocephalum moldavica,as experimental materials.We measured the germination rate,germination enenrgy,germination index,vigor index,shoot length,germination characteristics and external shape change in theprocess of water absorption.Our goal in this phase is to provide theoretical reference for plant factory’ application in aromatic plants.The results showed that germination days of Perilla frutescens.Nepeta cataria,Dracocephalum moldavica are as early as 2 days,Lavandula angustifolia and Agastache rugosa germinated later one week before beginning to germination;the highest germination rate was 90%wirh Dracocephalum moldavica,80.2%with Nepeta cataria.The germination rate of most seeds are around 50%.Germination energy of Dracocephalum moldavica,Ocimum basilicum and Mentha Canadensis,are higher than others about 55%.Germination index ang vigor index of Ocimum basilicum,Nepeta cataria,Mentha Can,adensis,Dracocephalum moldavica are near 40%higher than other tested seeds.The vigor index are 145.5,140.2 and 132.2,respectively.Rosmarinus officinalis didn’t germinate during the experimental period.Overall,the 8 aromatic plant’ seeds are all in low germination rate except of Dracocephalum moldavica and Nepeta cataria.2)Chosed:Plectranthus hadiensis,Mentha Canadensis,Rosmarinus officinalis these aromatic plants’ seedlings as experimental materials.The effects of different cultivation methods and conditions on morphological and physiological indexes of plants were compared.We found out:That the cultivation of Plectranthus hadiensis can break through the traditional bumper by using hydroponics.Compared with soil culture,the average fresh weight per leaf can be increased by 0.014g,and the total chlorophyll content can be increased by 0.062 mg/g.The top cuttings of Rosmarinus officinalis had higher survival rate than middle cuttings.The survival rate of top cutting is 27.13%,and is higher than middle cuttings of Rosmarinus officinalis Coconut is more suitable for the growth of Rosmarinus officinalis than other substrate,and the survival rate of top and middle cuttings were 90%and 43.6%respectively When Mentha canadensis was cultivated in 1/4×garden nutrient solution,its root length,stem length and chlorophyll content were higher than others.1/4×garden nutrient solution was the most suitable water cultivation condition for Mentha canadensis3)Plectranthus hadiensis was taken as experimental material.to study whether it have salt tolerance and growth adaptability in water culturatin.and we also want to investigate whether proper salt stress could improve the quality of the Plectranthus hadiensis.in order to provide reference for its exploitation in the adverse environment.The results showed that the bumper incense could tolerate NaCl of 100 mmol/L.The treatment of 50 mmol/L NaCl stress could increase the chlorophyll content by 0.060 mg/g,protein content by 0.120 mg/g,and to improve the quality of Plectranthus hadiensisOur study suggests that the using of plant factory techniques for aromatic plants have great potential for production of aromatic plants,which can get rid of the seasonal and regional restrictions,improve the reproduction rate of plants and the ability to adapt to the extreme environment and cultivate more excellent quality of aromatic plants.
