Memorial is to commemorate the one kind of great modern characters of the construction of the building,with the development of our country economy development and city culture construction,major cities of contemporary memorial building number also continue to increase,but modern character images of memorial building in a popular style,the phenomenon of homogeneity,and to use classic mode expression,not "set by people" design.In order to study the design methodology of "because of people,because of people,because of people's choice of materials,because of people's expression",this paper introduces the symbolic theory to study the design of modern people's memorial hall.Symbol according to the case,both home and abroad were collected from the study theme conception,aimed at "politics-oriented,religion,art,disaster,scientists," such as conception,symbol of the theme,the theme of the symbol way,the application of carrier,the expression "the five aspects of research,analysis of the differences between and commonality,and solve the following research questions:(1)Conception: there are some commonalities and laws between symbolic themes and symbolic subjects of different types of characters.(2)Objectification: the symbolic subject images and symbolic ways of commemorating characters objectify the characteristics of each type?(3)Application: how to express the symbolic image in the application of carrier and performance skills to reflect the spatial artistic conception?(4)Methods: how to innovate the design method in the application design of symbol in the memorial hall of modern characters?In order to solve the above problems,the characteristics,classification and definition of symbol theory related theory of "set" for people's study and solve the memory of the people "because people think" problem,according to different types of memory of characters combined with the related case analysis,summarizes the memorial conception design principle,process and methodology of the characters,to commemorate the character design method with its uniqueness.Secondly,in order to avoid the symbolic theme idea is too abstract and fuzzy,with "because people select material" as the research target,according to "politics-oriented,religion,art,disaster,scientists," such as the case of comparative analysis,summarizes the memorial symbol of the theme "because people select material" methodology,symbol through the relevant way to solve the "meaning" and "like" the conformity between the problem,at the same time analyzed the symbol in architectural design in various parts of the bearing performance,provide the application methods in the design of symbol environment.Finally,on the one hand,to construct "set by people" the symbol of design factors,design principles,design process,design,material selection,application,performance),composite design methodology,on the other hand,summarizes the aesthetic symbol structure(god,meaning,form,texture)as a symbol building design aesthetic perception,as a symbol design method of appraisal and aesthetic way.In the face of the diversity of memorial types and the particularity of characters in Chinese personages memorial hall,a symbolic design and creation method suitable for"because of man conception,because of man material selection,because of man expression"is constructed,which plays a certain role in the design of Chinese modern personages memorial hall.
