The spread and development of Christianity in China has gone through a long process,with a written missionary history dating back to the Tang dynasty.Compared with Shanghai,Guangzhou,Beijing,Tianjin and other missionary centers,Liaoning province began to be preached later.It was incorporated as part of the Beijing diocese in 1693.After the signing of the Tianjin Treaty between China and Britain in 1858,Yingkou opened its port,and western missionaries took this opportunity to enter Liaoning in large numbers to carry out missionary activities.In the process of preaching,missionaries carried out a lot of Christian architecture.As an exotic religious architecture,it has both Chinese and Western characteristics,and the construction and development of Christian architecture is a process of inculturation,which is also a process of mutual influence and integration between Chinese and western architectural techniques.In the process of missionary work,the missionaries carried out a large number of Christian architectures.As a kind of foreign religious architecture,the Christian architecture has both Chinese and western characteristics.The construction and development in Liaoning province is a process of inculturation,and it is also a process of mutual influence between Chinese and western architectural technologies.Based on the research of the modern Christian architecture,the beginning of modernization in Liaoning province region originated from the Christian missionary process is clearly revealed,the existing research on the modernization of northeast China originated from the construction of Russian and Japanese railways in the Middle East and the construction of affiliated railway sites is corrected and updated,and the beginning of modernization of foreign forces in northeast China is revised from the end of the 19 th century to the end of the 17 th century.Different from the buildings imported from Russia and Japan,the modern Christian architecture in Liaoning province largely used and relied on local traditional craftsmen and traditional materials,which made the modernization of traditional buildings in Liaoning province first appeared in the Christian architecture,and then affected the construction of modern independent cities.The existing modern church architecture can reflect the integration and development of Chinese and western architectural culture in Liaoning province,and this study can also provide a theoretical basis for correctly judging its architectural value and protection.This paper is divided into three parts:Part one: From the aspects of parish evolution,this part dissemination characteristics,types and grades of church buildings,this part gives an overall introduction to the development of modern Christianity in liaoning and the construction of church buildings.Part two: This partsorted out the structure types of modern church buildings in liaoning,summarized the characteristics of each type based on the example of church buildings in xincun,made a comparative analysis of each structure type,and discussed the different manifestations of " Sinification" structure and "motherlandization" structure in application time,stress and space proportion.Part three: Based on the previous analysis of each part of the Christian architecture,interpret the inculturation performance from the perspective of construction technology,clarify the inculturation development process with regional characteristics of Liaoning,demonstrate the relationship between the development of Christian architecture technology and modern building technology in Liaoning province and summarize the characteristics of inculturation of modern Christian architecture in Liaoning province.The main innovations of this paper are as follows:Firstly,this paper broadens the scope of the study objects of modern Christian architecture in Liaoning.It expands the research object from the existing large-scale churches in major cities to all church buildings that existed in Liaoning province;Secondly,this paper defines inculturation as "Sinification" and "motherlandization",a more comprehensive discussion of the integration of Chinese and Western architectural culture in Christian architecture;Thirdly,this paper notices the differences between the buildings of different parishs.It finds the church building grade,and combines the grade with the building form carries on the research;Fourthly,this paper is different from the current study of inculturation in terms of architectural style.It focuses on architectural technology.This paper studies the inculturation of Christian architecture from the perspective of this issue,and uses it to demonstrate the relationship between Christian architecture technology and modern building technology.
