In recent years, with the large-scale construction of cities in China, many Chinese Buddhist temples with historical and cultural values in urban areas are also facing tremendous pressure.First, due to the influence of modern social life, the religious atmosphere in urban temples is weak.Second, the urban temple space is incompatible with the surrounding urban environment, which has not played a positive role in improving the image of the city.Third,in order to meet the needs of urban development, the external and internal space of the temple was gradually compressed, the temple layout was disorderly, and the landscape was fragmented. The city is the sedimentation of culture, and the culture is the soul of the city. The temples in the city are not only an important part of the city's historical and cultural heritage, but also a pair of powerful wings that help the city develop. Therefore, the research on this subject is not only of great significance to the protection of temple cultural heritage, but also has a positive effect on continuing the urban cultural context and promoting urban development. In addition, the author takes the Wuhan Gude Temple,a special and typical urban Chinese Buddhist Temple as a design case, with a view to studying the landscape design of the Good Temple, not only for other more traditional urban Chinese Buddhist Temple in its landscape design It provides innovative references and references, and also contributes to the development of a new model of Buddhist landscape space. The author conducts research on this subject through methods such as literature collection, field investigation and analysis. The main body of this article is divided into four parts. The first part starts with the historical evolution of the landscape space of Chinese Buddhist Temple in the city.It systematically summarizes the development and current status of the urban temple landscape of Buddhism after it was introduced into China. The design of the space provides theoretical and background evidence. In the second part, based on understanding the history of the development of urban temple landscape,it analyzes the embodiment of Buddhist aesthetic intention and the construction methods of landscape elements in urban temple landscape space, and summarizes the characteristics of urban temple landscape space. The third part is the exploration of the urban temple landscape space design.First, some excellent urban planninglandscape temples are analyzed, and then their strengths and advantages are extracted. Finally, the design direction and method of urban temple landscape space are determined. The fourth part analyzes the history, location and current situation of Gude Temple in Hankou as a design case, and proposes the purpose, principles, ideas and schemes of Gude Temple landscape space design from the perspective of temple cultural heritage. There are many researches and literatures on Buddhist temple landscapes, but most of them focus on the study of mountain forest temple landscapes.Few literatures have researched the urban Hanchuan Buddhist temple landscapes. Therefore, this article creatively explores the temple landscape space from the perspective of urban construction expansion. It is hoped to find a way to coordinate the temple landscape space and urban development and expansion through the research of this subject,so as to resolve the contradiction between urban construction and temple development. The topic of this dissertation is from a design project commissioned by the government.
