A good riding environment helps to improve the travel conditions of residents.Based on the survey of residents’riding needs and the aim of improving the riding service level,the key design parameter optimization methods and street riding quality evaluation methods are studied.Taking the urban area as an example,an example analysis was carried out to propose a street updating strategy to improve the riding quality.First of all,through field research and questionnaire survey,statistical analysis of cyclists’travel behavior and needs,to explore the main points of street design from the perspective of cycling.The reasons why cyclists are dissatisfied with the riding environment are concentrated in the lack of space,disorder,and lack of facilities.Secondly,with the aim of improving riding quality,a method for optimizing urban bicycle network parameters is proposed.Multiple test scenarios were established using different combinations of key design parameters,and the Cube simulation model was used for test analysis to obtain service level measurement indicators such as total travel time,average speed,road saturation,etc.The results showed that the width was 3.5m and road density.The recommended layout plan of 4.5km/km~2,considering the balance of the service level distribution of the road network,the road density can be increased to5km/km~2.Multivariate analysis of variance was used to compare the effects of two key parameters,and it was found that increasing the lane width can significantly improve the service level of the bicycle network.Thirdly,through the open source data of the network and field research,the current situation of urban street riding in the research area is sorted out,and a geographic spatial database of riding is built.The urban street riding quality evaluation system is constructed from three dimensions of convenience,safety and comfort,using mathematical statistical analysis and GIS spatial analysis methods,combined with historical development circles and road grades to analyze the street riding quality within the research scope.The results show that the overall level of the cycling environment is poor:the cycling index decreases from the city center to the periphery with the update of the city’s built year,and has obvious stratification characteristics.The best street is Renmin Road.The results of mathematical statistical analysis show that:the convenience evaluation results of the primary and secondary roads have a negative skewed distribution feature,and the branch roads have a positive skewed distribution feature.The distribution of road-related facilities is unbalanced;the results of comfort evaluation are mostly negatively skewed,and the overall level is relatively moderate.Finally,based on the above analysis results,the zoning plan,combing the structure,supplementing features,and tapping the potential of facilities are proposed to provide a theoretical basis and decision-making reference for the bicycle system status analysis and update planning.
