The Material Presentation Of Neo-vernacular Building

In many researches on how to "use" building materials,we can clearly feel that most research perspectives are limited by specific materials,specific regions and specific cultures,and fall into a kind of Pan cultural and pan regional narrow.It is particularly urgent to establish a rational,scientific and technological perspective for the use of materials.The new vernacular architecture is a modern translation of vernacular architecture vocabulary,which endows the vernacular architecture with modern functional features.Therefore,this paper uses the new vernacular architecture to study the presentation of materials.Material presentation is the architect 's response to external factors according to the characteristics of materials.After combing the contents and methods of material presentation,the relationship between materials and Xinxiang earth buildings is clarified.With the help of the classification of regional factors in the holistic theory,the presentation of Xinxiang earth building materials is analyzed in detail.The regional factors are "regional climate","regional landscape" and "regional climate" ”As the influencing factors of "enveloping" architecture,there are always many kinds of climate factors intertwined.When materials deal with different climate characteristics,they show the influence of their own properties on the architectural form."Regional climate" is the invisible element enveloping the building,and "regional landscape" is the base map of the building.The visible landscape of the building combines people's thinking about nature,and forms a posture of integration or contrast with different regional landscapes through materials.In addition to the influence of climate and landscape,architecture is also affected by the "regional culture" factors such as history,social form,place spirit,etc.through the technical presentation and the material's own attribute presentation,the regional culture disclosure and regional emotion fit.Based on the case study,this paper analyzes the specific relationship between material presentation and new vernacular architecture from three different perspectives,and concludes the strategies of material application in new vernacular architecture,which are the skin of traditional materials,the technological replacement of material construction,the Phenomenological Turn of material presentation and the critical inheritance of traditional material concepts.Finally,the following conclusions are drawn: the natural attribute characteristics of local materials should be strengthened;the material combination should be selected according to local conditions,combined with regional factors to shape the new local buildings;the advantages of materials' own attributes should be brought into play,and the space of new local buildings with different atmosphere should be created according to the needs.
