The city square is an open public space with strong outdoor function and relatively high density of people.It is one of the activities places for citizens’ leisure and entertainment,and it is the concentrated performance of urban culture.Under the influence of rapid economic development and a large number of urban construction expansion,there are many forms of square design all over the country.The gradual enrichment of urban life and the demand for use promote the square to develop into a multi-functional compound direction.Influenced by the foreign culture,the square design has been gradually assimilated,the lack of cultural essence and regional characteristics and many other issues;At the same time,the improvement of Chinese social consumption concept makes people pay more and more attention to life style and culture study,and pay more attention to the city.Psychological impression,only when people participate in the landscape space,in-depth understanding of cultural atmosphere,design can really be full of soul and vitality,deepen people’s emotional memory.The continuous renewal of modern science and technology is gradually integrated into landscape design,how to inherit the traditional culture and break through the traditional design thought under the background of the development of the times,Modern science and technology combined with natural elements to further innovative design to show the content of traditional culture.In order to create a unique collection of business,cultural leisure,distribution,memorial and other comprehensive theme square landscape space,so that thesquare to bring more economic and cultural value for the development of the city,improve the landscape quality of the city.And popularity,become the focus of modern city square design.Through the research and understanding of the urban square landscape design theory,this paper analyzes the modern cultural square landscape design method.Through the case study and practical design of the landscape design of Zhongzhen Yao Cultural Plaza in Shanxi Province,this paper analyzes the historical background of the culture in Huozhou area of Shanxi Province,aiming at inheriting Yao culture as the main goal.It is closely related to people’s environmental behavior and psychological needs,and seeks the creative method and design performance of Huozhou regional culture in the landscape of Zhongzhen Yao Cultural Square,through sculpture sketch,paving,plant design,Public facilities and other landscape carriers to realize the design language expression,the refined cultural elements for artistic symbols transformation Through the abstract design method to penetrate into the three-dimensional space of the city square landscape,the dynamic city culture square landscape environment is rendered,and the regional design method under the influence of the natural environment,the human environment and the economic development of the urban outdoor public space landscape is summarized,In order to focus on the development of the modern city’s cultural charm,the outdoor public space design to improve the city’s vitality will provide a certain reference value.Through theoretical analysis and research practice,the following design methods are obtained in the landscape design of Zhongzhenyao Cultural Square in Shanxi Province.(1)The landscape environment design of urban cultural square should be based on the local natural environment,deeply excavate the regional cultural elements,analyze and integrate the existing landscape resources,and on the basis of protection,inheritance and utilization,Combined with scientific and reasonable guiding ideology,the overall positioning,planning and design of the site is carried out,and the local characteristics are explored to radiate the value of the city.(2)The design of modern square landscape space should follow the regional and environmental coordination in the innovative fusiondesign,conform to the requirements of the development background of the new era,and combine with modern scientific and technological means.The material culture and non-material cultural elements of the place are displayed in the square space through different innovative design techniques.(3)Combining material elements(entity and space-space quality)and non-material elements(human activities-social quality)to improve the comprehensive quality of the square,unify human activities with space,and pay attention to human participation,And the emotion and spiritual civilization into the design,so that people resonate with it.
