A Research Of The Performing-spectating Space Design Of Kunqu Opera In Real Gardens

Kunqu opera was the dazzling pearl in the long history of Chinese culture,which is going to lose its glow with the progression of history.In recent years,Kunqu opera and gardens have been active again among the masses by a new form of performing Kunqu opera in real gardens.There arouse a heated discussion about how to integrate modern design elements into the performing-spectating space of Kunqu opera efficiently.This thesis was focused on the combination of contemporary Kunqu opera and garden space,which was determined to construct the new context for the performing-spectating space of Kunqu opera and explore the design methods which match the performing arts of contemporary Kunqu opera better.Moreover,this study was also designed to investigate the preferable integration of Kunqu opera and gardens in the new age.The form of Kunqu opera in real garden inherits and develops the excellent traditional culture of China,where there demonstrated the modern value of Kunqu opera and gardens.Additionally,this kind of form could contribute to interpreting the interaction of people and gardens as well as Kunqu opera with the idea of design.Furthermore,it can also help developing the designing of performing-spectating space with Chinese characteristics and providing new design ideas for other contemporary design fields of China,which is of great significance.In this thesis,the development of Kunqu opera and gardens was combed by literatures review macroscopically,the potential relation between immaterial quyi and material building was analyzed,and the rising reasons of performing form of Kunqu opera in real gardens were probed.What's more,the thesis conducted microcosmic analysis,such as taking the performing-spectating space of Kunqu opera in real gardens which is relative mature as example through field investigation,and studying on the factors which cast effects on the performance of Kunqu opera in real garden space,including the design of spatial arrangement,decorative features,light and sound effects,caption style and special effects,took which as the basis,this study explored the relation between the performing-spectating space and the plot via cross-discipline research,then investigated the way of designing performing-spectating space to emerge the cultural connotations and artistic characteristics of Kunqu opera.Eventually,induction and comparative methods were adopted to analyze the design features of this kind of performing-spectating space,and this thesis also put forward some design principles and rules for the performing-spectating space of contemporary Kunqu opera in real gardens.Kunqu opera and gardens are the treasure of the world cultural heritage,which should emit their own activity and brilliance.Appearance of the performing-spectating space of Kunqu opera in real gardens embodied the role of modem technology and economic development in the space design of traditional Kunqu opera performance,and indicated the future path of performing-spectating space of Kunqu opera.
