Research On Megastructure Evolution And Its Contemporary Practice

With the advancement of urbanization,urban and people's lifestyles are undergoing earth-shaking changes.However,our architectural design cannot keep up with the speed of the times.Many buildings have a single function space,a rigid spatial form,and cannot adapt to the current situation of multi-purpose,fast-paced,and information-oriented.In fact,as early as the early 20 th century,there was already a solution,that is,megastructure that could cope with these urban problems.It was only at that time that the technology was not yet sound,and the illusion was too arrogant to complete a large number of megastructure practices.Therefore,the idea of megastructure has gradually fallen into silence.However,in the 21 st century,technical problems have been solved,and the predicament brought about by urbanization has become more and more serious,which has made the megastructure ideology on the stage of history.Although the re-emergence of the megastructure ideology is not as large as the past one,its connotation is inherited.The purpose of this paper is to first sort out the context of the past megastructure ideology,so as to explore the origin of contemporary megastructure ideology,and then summarize and analyze contemporary megastructure practices,and draw corresponding conclusions.This paper firstly combs the research background,clarifies the related concepts and research status,and then summarizes and classifies the traditional megastructure ideology based on the timeline,and summarizes some characteristics of the contemporary megastructure ideology after they sprout.They all come from traditional megastructure ideology,and sort out the context from a theoretical perspective,which provides a theoretical basis for the consolidation of contemporary megastructure.Later,the contemporary giant practices at home and abroad were discussed and analyzed from different architects and different architectural types.Finally,this paper has made some forward-looking judgments on the limitations and future development trends of megastructure buildings in the contemporary era,and intends to bring certain reference significance to the practice of megastructure buildings.Through the research in this paper,I hope to provide a general reference for the study of the practice of megastructure in the contemporary.
