Research On The Spatial Characteristics Of Dongshan County Town

Nowadays,under the tide of urbanization and globalization,there are widespread problems in the convergence of space construction and inadequacy of characteristics in large,medium and small cities in China,which greatly affects the long-term development of cities.As the focus of urban development shifts from quantity to quality,the creation of urban spatial features will become an important task for the continuous advancement of large,medium and small cities.Urban space features are an important embodiment of the city’s image and charm,combining natural environment,historical and modern culture,society,economy,and spatial landscape.Actively cultivating and shaping urban spatial characteristics is an important way to improve urban functions,enhance people’s quality of life,continue urban context and improve urban comprehensive competitiveness.The paper selects Dongshan County,an island town with distinctive regional characteristics,as the research object.Taking Dongshan County’s rapid development of urban space in recent years,but the spatial situation is gradually becoming the same as the starting point,it aims to improve the urban space quality and city’s image of Dongshan County through the study of urban spatial characteristics.Firstly,through the systematic study of the relevant theories and practices at home and abroad,the paper clarifies the conceptual connotation,characteristics and cognitive approaches of urban spatial characteristics,and provides theoretical support for the follow-up study.Secondly,through the review of the development process of urban space and the survey of residents’ perception of characteristics,we can get the composition of urban space characteristics and the existing problems in Dongshan County.The spatial characteristics of Dongshan County can be classified into three categories: natural environment,human history and red culture.At present,the main problems are: ambiguous orientation of characteristics,disordered organization of characteristic system and lack of guidance of characteristic elements.On this basis,based on three types of factors and different perspectives,the formation and development of county spatial characteristics are studied,and the characteristics and development laws of county spatial characteristics under different factors are discussed.On the basis of grasping the formation law of spatial characteristics,the corresponding optimization strategies are put forward for specific problems in reality.Finally,at the level of spatial operation,the optimization strategies of urban spatial characteristics of Dongshan County are integrated from different perspectives.By means of planning design and control guidance,the strategies of creating urban spatial characteristics of Dongshan County are put forward,and the optimization of urban spatial characteristics and the improvement of spatial quality of Dongshan County are realized.The conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)The presentation of urban spatial characteristics not only focuses on the construction of urban physical space,but also depends on whether it can be clearly perceived and recognized.Therefore,the way of feature perception should be strengthened in shaping urban spatial characteristics.(2)Urban spatial characteristics are the stage results of urban sustainable development,not the presentation of fixed forms.Urban spatial characteristics are constantly dispelled with the succession of urban space,while generating new features.Therefore,the shaping of urban spatial characteristics is a continuous process,which should reflect the dynamic nature in strategic design.(3)To build urban spatial characteristics,first of all,we need to put forward the orientation of urban spatial characteristics and make clear the development direction of urban spatial characteristics.Secondly,the framework of urban spatial characteristics should be established,and the spatial elements involved in urban spatial characteristics should be sorted out and integrated,so as to clarify the focus of shaping spatial characteristics and the hierarchical relationship among the elements.Finally,the factors of different spatial levels are put forward corresponding control and guidance measures from the corresponding planning spatial levels.In view of the practical problems,long-term goals are considered,targeted,and progressive progress is made.
