Ship energy saving has become the topic in the shipping field.The research of the energy saving devices have become the focus in the field of hydrodynamic research.At present,the academic members have conducted research on the preposition guide wheel,compensation conduit and strengthening fin elimination,but the energy saving mechanism of the new full suspension efficient rudder is still being explored.In order to master design concept and core technology of the new full suspension efficient rudder and fill the gap in the field of hydrodynamic analysis in china.This article focuses the performance of the new full suspension efficient rudder.The main research contents and achievements of this paper as follows:(1)This article was systematically described the relationships between the fluid dynamics,ship hydrodynamics and CFD fluid dynamics.Consulted a lot of literature papers on the basis of theoretical analysis and research,and then introduce the continuity equation,turbulence model and free surface treatment method.According to the characteristics of the model,the calculation method of self-sailing point is established and verified on two container ships.(2)One of the contents of this paper focuses on the hydrodynamic performance of the new full suspension efficient rudder.According to the characteristics of the rudder model,the calculation method of the ship’s self-navigation point is described.At the same time,in the grid generation and other aspects,the analysis and research,which gives an important description of the accuracy and efficiency of the calculation results.Base on the CFD calculation method of the system,the self-navigation performance of different rudder types was calculated.By comparing the power received from different propeller types,the energy saving effect of each rudder type was analyzed.(3)The second part of this paper focuses on the maneuvering performance of the new full suspension efficient rudder.According to the analysis results of hydrodynamic performance,the maneuverability is mainly calculated and analyzed for flat rudder and efficient rudder.CFD numerical method was used to calculate the force and torque of flat rudder and efficient rudder at different rudder angles.Then MMG control motion equation was used to evaluate the control performance of the two rudder types,the hydrodynamic performance of flat rudder and efficient rudder at the same propeller speed near the equilibrium point was evaluated,including the rotary motion at different rudder angles,Z type motion and initial rotary motion.(4)The third part of this paper focuses on the Security performance of the new full suspension efficient rudder.Security refers to the strength and stiffness of the rudder system.Firstly,the structural finite element modeling and analysis software was applied to establish the finite element calculation and analysis model of the new full-suspension efficient rudder force ad stress distribution under two kinds of rudder angle is calculated,and the results will be entered into the finite element model,the calculation of the two extreme conditions hanging rudder stress and deformation situation,assess the new suspension is effective whether meet the requirements of structural strength and rigidity of the rudder system,ensure that all the relative deformation rudder system main components in the acceptable range,and finally to regulate rules as a standard for the overall safety performance assessment,ensure the safety of vew full suspension steering system performance.
