With the sustained rapid development of China's economy, the number of vehicles in some areas has seriously exceeded the carrying capacity of road networks. In addition, traffic congestion, traffic accidents, and environmental pollution have become more prominent. To solve these problems, the Intelligent Transportation System(ITS)has been introduced, and the research of intelligent networked vehicles has drawn much attention. As a key technology of the ITS,Internet of Vehicles(IoV)which is usually based on the wireless communication, and they can provide stable, reliable and low-latency data transmission services between vehicle and vehicle or between vehicle and infrastructural under the complicated and variable vehicle communication channel conditions. This article mainly focuses on the vehicle to vehicle(V2V)communication in IoV.The main work of this paper is to design and implement an experimental system for data transmission in the physical layer of V2 V communication based on software defined radio platform GNU Radio and USRP(Universal Software Radio Peripheral).Firstly, the demand of V2 V communication and the characteristics of vehicle channel are analyzed. On this basis, the overall design scheme of the physical layer in V2 V communication is given.Secondly, the key technologies involved in the scheme--Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(OFDM)technology and software defined radio technology are introduced. After that, the signal processing modules(including: byte-to-bit,Cyclic Redundancy Check, convolutional coding, scrambling code, modulation,OFDM modulation, synchronization, channel estimation,OFDM demodulation, demodulation, descrambling,Viterbi decoding,CRC check,bit-to-byte)of the transmitting link and the receiving link are designed in detail, and they are further implemented based on the GNU Radio and USRP.Finally,a semi-physical simulation test platform is built in the laboratory to test and verify the performance of the realized V2 V platform. The simulation test results show that the realized V2 V communication platform can work well in the vehicle channel environment, and its performance meets the design requirements. The system supports expansion and reconfiguration, which provides a basic research platform for advanced technologies related to V2 V communication such as channel estimation, synchronization,MIMO,and so on.
