When driving for a long time in tunnel,driver’s vision is limited in the tube.The monotonous circumstance is prone to cause uncomfortable feeling in driver’s eyes and driving fatigue,resulting in wrong choices and an increase of transportation accidents possibility.Researches show that comparing with accidents on open highways,those in tunnels bring worse casualties and property losses.Road structure is a major composite of tunnel structure.The color,texture,construction techniques,fire resistance of the road closely relates to the visual condition of tunnel,lightning conditions,driving safe,environmental-friendly construction and the happening of secondary disasters,such as fire.In recent years,to improve the driving safe in tunnels,colored asphalt concrete pavement has been widely applied toroad engineering.Whether colored asphalt concrete pavement can effectively improve road visibility and drivers’ visual comfort,and whether it can keep drivers’ vision comfortable and,at the same time,keep them alert when they drive for a long time in tunnels are questions to be solved.Test using VR technology are carried out to study on the influence of the colored asphalt concrete pavement in tunnel on the visual comfort.Following works are carried out:A.Based on the visual principles for tunnel transportation and the testing standards for road reflection,a new type of laboratory instrument for testing road luminance coefficient is introduced.The instrument uses white LED lights with a high color temperature as experimental light source,and spot luminance meter as a measurement.After measuring road sample,Reflection Table for the road surface tested(or R-Table)is yielded.Moreover,the reflectance and values of RGB of the road samples are found out.B.After theoretically analysis,experimental lights are arranged symmetrically and supplemented with symmetrical illumination as its light distribution.DIALux is used in virtual lightning and to acquire a lighting solution for the interior zone of tunnels that meets with visual comfort standards.Based on knowledge on luminance coefficient,road material,color,the distance between lights,road material in tunnel model is set,and two APPs,SketchUp and Lumion,are used in establishing a virtual model of inner environment of tunnel.C.Grouping experiments are carried out.In each of the tests,different colors are used,including red,yellow and green.The characteristics of driver’s eye movement are measured.Meanwhile,after the experiment,drivers are asked to fill in questionnaires.In doing so,the influence of different road colors on drivers’ visual experience and fatigue is measured.Thus,the influence of different colored roads on drivers is found out.Experiments show that among the three colored pavements,green one is most comfortable for drivers,followed by red and yellow orderly.This research can provide a reference for the application of colored asphalt concrete pavement in tunnel construction and the visual performance of such kind of pavement. |
