Research On The Economical Colored Asphalt Binder And Mixture’s Pavement Performance

With the development of economic and the progress of science and technology, coloredasphalt pavement has attracted the attention of more and more countries. Colored asphaltpavement can not only beautify the environment, improve road landscape, but also serve tostrengthen traffic alerts, divide the role of traffic lane. However, the high cost of colorasphalt pavement and the complex production process of colored asphalt binder, restrict thewide-range promotion and application of colored asphalt pavement. This research centerson reducing the cost of colored asphalt pavement and provide some valuable references onthe promotion and application of colored asphalt pavement, the paper researches thepreparation of colored asphalt binder, the gradation design and the pavement performanceof the colored asphalt mixture.Firstly, the paper researches on selecting suitable raw materials and preparation processof colored asphalt binder by referring to the chemical composition of normal asphalt. Thepaper also researches on the influence of resin content, the type of polymer, the polymercontent on the performance of colored asphalt binder. As a result, the study selects fivekinds of colored asphalt binder, which are technically feasible, economically reasonable andhave superior performance than the similar type products in the world.Secondly, the paper has researched on the gradation design and the pavementperformance of the economical colored asphalt mixture. The research has determined theoptimum content of binder and pigment basing on the Marshall test methods and colortheory. The experimental results show that the economical colored asphalt mixture has agood performance on high temperature stability, low temperature crack resistance and waterstability, which is superior than the normal asphalt mixture.Finally, the paper has researched the construction technology of the economicalcolored asphalt pavements basing on its own features. What’s more, the research hasanalyzed the economical and social benefits of the colored asphalt pavement, which showthat the economical colored asphalt pavement has considerable benefit and value.
